I heard Tazz's kid no sold everything that Fat Joe gave him

Pile drivers, busters, chair shots, kicks to the nuts and other finishing moves and Hook kicks out at 1.

I didn't watch the match but from what I heard on Busted Open, Bully and Dave saying Hook just completely no sold and was kicking out easily from everything Joe had to give. If Joe's moves are nothing to a 135lb twink like Hook, then Joe is gonna look even weaker to legit real men contenders.

This is the main reason why I stopped watching AEW. They no sell everything and just no believability.

WWE does the opposite and oversells their moves, especially the one move finishers. Jinder dominated Seth most of the match, Seth escaped Jinder's finisher with a little roll and then stomped him. Stupid. Whatever happened to wearing your opponent down?

hook sucks and they especially made him look superhuman after the match, which was way over the top imo.

him kicking out of the muscle buster at 1 was cool with me bc joe did take his time making the pin.

for the most part, that match looked the way it was supposed to look. joe looked very strong and they protected the kid....but the kid sucks. he's not good. he doesn't have it. he's wrestled 30 matches on tv in 4 years now?
maybe if he was being developed properly, he'd be something by now.....but he's not.

I can't say anything directly - did not watch this match, have not watched AEW regularly since Punk left the first time, then Nope'd out after Brawl Out...

... but Hook had something, charisma. Yes, he's very small, but I think used correctly he would be good. That means: working him up slowly, getting him tons of experience and not instantly making him an undefeated champion who never loses and wrestles strong against men twice his size.

So I understand why you hate him but I think it's just one more wasted potential more than him having no aptitude.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

He didn’t no sell. He was selling throughout and got dominated by Samoa Joe and looked like he was going to get totally squashed but kicked out at 1 and hulked up and fought to get a suplex and tried to get his submission in before getting reversed and choked out.

Everyone knew Hook was losing but they managed to get the crowd behind him after he fired up while still managing to keep Samoa Joe looking like a monster. They threaded the needle almost perfectly between those two things.

The problem is that Tony Khan doesn’t follow up soon enough when he starts pushing talent to ascend. He thinks it’s saving a video game and you can just pick up where you left off a month later. But American audiences especially have no attention span.

So while I think this was actually done effectively it will probably end up being a waste.
