I kind of get challenging them outside & they did nothing when he did, but jumping in your car & chasing them? By the time he made it to his car & started after them they probably thought it was a gang beef driveby attempt & not him.

It takes someone with a sub-80 IQ to confront shoplifting customers at a retail/gas station job instead of just reporting it to management. Even in a best case scenario, the extent of the reward for going to such lengths at jobs like those would be an "atta boy!", and maybe $5 worth of free lunch food or some bullchit.

Following them outside and jumping in a car? Once they get in the car just take down the license plate number.

Yep, the have a go heroes at bank & jewel shop robberies always baffle me-whether it is staff or just random members of the public. You are nearly always greatly outnumbered-they are armed with anything from sledgehammers to shotguns & you are putting your life or being maimed on the line for what exactly? To 'protect' Mr Noseberg's fortune by saving a few thousand quid or 100 grands of diamonds-all of which is fully insured anyway.
