Imagine driving for uber and celebrating your "tax write-offs"

LMAO.

Uber drivers get to write off $0.67 per mile because the average expense of driving a vehicle in the USA comes out to $0.67 PER MILE.

For misc retards who don't know how tax write-offs work, you don't pay income tax on the amount of money you are allowed to write off at the $0.67 PER MILE rate.

If you drove 100 miles, you get to write off $67 of income.
If Uber paid you a total of $67 for those 100 miles worth of trips, then you pay no taxes, because YOU MADE NO MONEY.
If Uber paid you a total of $100 for those 100 miles worth of trips, then you only pay tax on $33 because YOU MADE $33.

A 100 mile Uber trip is going to be something like $300-400 and driver expenses are likely much less than $67. So the driver is being rewarded quite handsomely for driving a car, which is a skill that 4 Billion people around the world also have.

I'd say it's a great gig.
