I weight 220, and I can't come close to OHP that, my 1 rep max is 190 and it's scary. I feel like 5 pounds more and I'd fall over or crush myself.

To answer question, I think it's easier for smaller guys to train up to lifting their body weight than a heavy guy

I rarely see the movement done period when I think about it. At least not standing.

It feels like every 5lb increment doubles the difficulty.

I can do it seated for reps. The thing that made my strength go up the most was barbell press and dB press same workouts. It sucks but works

I was doing sets of triples for a bit a while back because I wanted a 2 plate 1rm. Eventually just doubles.

Came close but didn't happen. I was able to get 210 for 1 @220bw. Then I had a trip coming up so I went on a cut, and my OHP strength just nosedived into poverty territory.

I don't actually lift weights anymore and was never really into overhead press when I did.

I skipped learning handstand and went straight to trying to planche.....which is way way harder.

I am putting planche on hold and am now going to learn handstand, which is like overhead press.

Something you learn about how to move and control your body is scapula position for the movement. I don't think bodybuilding/lifters get into this, which is a mistake. You need to be aware of how you position your scapula/shoulders for a lift/movement.

I am working on increasing my scapula elevation strength before I start actually going inverted on my hands. Whatever weight you lift, you need to be able to stay with shoulders/scapula elevated to not injure yourself. If you can't stay elevated, don't put it over your head.

Get on a shoulder press machine and do overhead shrugs to increase your scapula elevation strength.

edit again: Be WAY stronger at overhead shrug than overhead press. Stay safe.

It took a hell of allot of volume and frequency kinda like Smolov but for shoulders

Was doing allot of triples and singles then a light day totaling 3x a week pressing minimum

Got to 245 strict on cam

No idea dude. I'm guessing like any other heavy lift, takes time and consistency. I don't lift heavy anymore but even when I did I ever aimed to OHP that much. I mostly hit it heavy on bench, deads, and leg compounds.
