Anyone else have scary fits of rage or anger they cannot control

Srs

In the last 6-8 months I have developed a pretty nasty ability to just see red and do something reckless when provoked or poked.

I had an argument with my wife over something trivial in the morning and saw red because she wouldn't stop talking, so I chucked a metal water bottle at a mirror causing it smash into a thousand pieces. I have also thrown a PC monitor on the floor smashing it up and an iphone due to similar reasons.

why is this happening brahs? and how do I stop it. I have always been a very subdued and relaxed person srs. Never had a fist fight in my entire life or ever been hit or hit someone.
I appreciate well thought out subtle trolling.

No (srs). It's perfectly normal as a human being to get angry, but there's a line. If you find it hard to regulate your emotions, you might need to develop some new coping strategies. Therapy can help you there.

Also, get that anger out on the weights bright and early. Personally, I find this quite helpful. Start the day off nice and relaxed.

This perspective of the male as stoic and always in check/'boys don't cry' is idiotic. We all experience a vast range of emotions as human beings. There are too may men that are emotionally constipated and that usually spills out in fits of rage because emotions aren't being properly experienced and dealt with directly.

Thanks for the advice. I am also leaning this direction, something has got to give at this point.

In my past - I have always been able to laugh it off, bite my tongue and cool off and regulate my emotions as you mentioned. but it is quite shocking what is happening recently, it's almost like a black out and then I calm down and feel terrible once I process my actions.

Men are not supposed to have female-like emotional outbursts. It is a sign of imbalanced hormones. He should have his levels checked. What exactly is idiotic about what I've said when you basically took what I said and reworded it?

Best of luck. Always remember it's never too late to make meaningful change in your life. One trick that worked for me in the past is to remove yourself from the situation that makes you really angry, if this is possible. Literally take a full step back and reassess. Also, if you tend to get really angry about seemingly trivial situations, it's usually a sign that there's a lot of anger and frustration deep down that hasn't been properly processed. For example, if you get 'road rage,' if might be misdirected anger that you really feel towards your spouse or your boss, etc.

Anyways, take care.

Men aren’t humans? Men’s brains don’t produce the right chemical compounds to feel anything?

OP you shouldn’t be throwing stuff, and braking things over simple disagreements. If this change happened suddenly, go see a doctor just to get everything cleared.

It's an endocrine issue

Yes high or low T can cause it; most men on dat dere will have fits of rage so intense you're capable of killing someone close to you

If blood work comes back normal it's treated with mood stabilizers

It's normal for men to get irritated with women, we're polar opposites of each other which is how it's supposed to be

Why medicate immediately? Why not just work on developing healthy coping strategies?

The medical model can be helpful for many things, but I'd encourage OP to not defer to that right out of the gate without trying to make meaningful behavioural changes first.

Bruv I can't simplify this any further than I already have. I did not suggest men should not have emotions, lol. Men are not supposed to have female-like emotional outbursts. It is a sign of imbalanced hormones. I'm the only one in here other than blissful88 giving OP the answer he needs to hear srs. Dunno why you geeks feel the need to argue with the first logical answer you read.

Because psychology is 99% made up bullchit & the primary reason men are no longer allowed to express themselves in a healthy way to begin with

Everything is a " behavioral disorder" now; "toxic" "aggressive"

This mindset is one of the primary reasons words like 'toxic' are being spewed out so liberally nowadays in the first place.

Good move srs. Nothing positive will come out of drinking excessively and scrolling social media. Your energy is best spent on more productive endeavours that give your life meaning and fulfillment.

Meditation can help. Srs ans.

There is two techniques that come to mind.
1. "noting". Essentially you practice observing how your body feels. You come to a meditation session you observe. Is the body calm, Is it tense, is it soft, is it agitated bla bla bla. Over time you learn to identify very quickly when a fit of rage is developing inside you so that you can do something before it takes over.
2. "Loving kindness". I know it sound ph@ggy. You imagine a moment of past anger with somebody. you feel the sensations. Then you imagine that same person being happy. You imagine doing something great for them that makes them happy and you observe the transition between the two states. You observe the feeling involved and evolving because that is your chemicals inside your body. You practice this sessions many times and develop ability to recreate them in real life.

So in real life you are about to throw a bottle at someone. Then bang you identify rage building. Then suddenly you go from anger to Happy. It works because you have practiced many times. This is just an example I made but there is a lot more to it than that.

This are very powerful techniques develop by monks over the centuries.

Stay safe OP. The real issue is you don't want a life changing moment over a parking ticket. Unfortunately this happens to quite a few people.

I am writing this for other misc like me from future past. This is more or less how meditation works. I was having a very difficult time a few years ago and this saved the day. You cannot understand this techniques from theory alone. You can only understand meditation through practice. I hope this helps.

I am not a drinker or drug guy so the gym or sports has always been my outlet, try it.
You are so fkn tired that the anger leaves you.
