Landlord Tried To Raise The Rent - Gonna Run Tha Water

He was saying property tax is higher than usual and water as well so i have to raise the rent 35$/mth. i was like no thanks jack and he got mad saying well if you dont pay than you have to leave! i was like ill pay our original rent agreement no way im just gonna start paying more. Than hes like well i will call my lawyer (lol!) and you will be forced to move! I was like ok jack, i know my rights! I know about order of possession and how the courts are backed upped bout 3.5 months. I could live here rent free and you'll have to take me to court for payment which is another 6+ months.

Now i'm gonna let the water run in his basement - where i rent a room with separate bathroom.

he dun goofed

Imagine not being able to afford $35 - which sounds like an absolutely minimal increase in the current inflationary environment.

If I were your landlord I'd toss you out on your ass for even whining about it.

Dude $35/month is nothing. He's probably eating most of the increase.

Hell, my insurance and taxes alone went up a total of $150/month this year on my house.

$35? Come on brah.

I left to rent a house actually, funny enough: it was cheaper than renting a chitbox apartment for 2200 a month LOL.

Did he try this in the middle of your current lease or when it was time to sign a new one?

If the latter $35 is completely reasonable.

Oh, so HE's been paying YOUR utilities - but because he wants you to chip in THIRTY FIVE whole dollars you're going to ruin his house.

JFC... wow.

It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.
