SUVs & CUVs are the ultimate NPC cars

Most who buy those cars think it gives them status.
Chicks buy them because they have some inferiority complex thinking that taller height-ride/ bigger sze = ''I'm better than you'', while dudes buy those thinking they will impress chicks but end up looking like doormats without an opinion.

Some dudes really have the need for a proper SUV (the small Jimny, Defender, Wrangler, Land Cruiser etc.) and truly like them, so I give them a pass but those are like 10% of the actual buyers.
With CUVs though, they are gheyer looking tall hatchbacks for twice the price and there is no excuse to buy those shytboxes.

noticed them when moving to TX. even worse are dudes with trucks.

Many of them are basically the equivalent of 90s ricer civics.

I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The 4wd is nice for the 20 or so times a year that I drive onto the beach. (Not an option for a car)

It's also easy to get my sons stroller in and out of, and I can haul a full trunk of rifles to a shooting competition.

Yeah I call them ph@gmobiles. Doesn’t it piss anyone else the fuk off that these car manufacturers are phasing out their sedans and ONLY offering crossovers or SUVs now? There are only like a half dozen cars still being produced for the U.S. market.

I never thought people with CUVs were trying to flex. It's a modern station wagon, where's the flex?

Most people I see with one are married with 2 kids, or outdoorsy types and need a place to put their baby seats/bicycles/camping gear

If you build houses or is some kind of house tradie, dailying a truck is an absolute must. Actually a van might even be better, but it depends and nobody wants to drive a lame looking van lol.

That said, the layout of the truck even for house work is still kinda sus because you can just haul the stuff in a dedicated trailer. The main thing is being able to haul a trailer with alot of weight.

I don't need a truck for my daily but it towes the boat and the ski. Not sure where the misc hate comes from but it's helpful even if I use it occasionally.

People will say they like them for their "utility" but what they really mean is they are part of the modern obese population where bending down to get into a sedan is too much trouble so they have a car with near standing height seats that they can just roll in and out of.
