Immediate cliffs:

- OP has been dating gf for 6 years

- Gf’s best friend does not like OP and vice versa

- gf left phone unlocked when she went into another room to grab some stuff

- OP quickly looks through texts with best friend who was sending paragraphs to gf trying to convince her to break up with me and that she thinks she deserves much better

- OP bans gf from hanging out with her and gives her an ultimatum: either me or her best friend

- Gf’s best friend reaches out and “apologizes” over text and says she wants to talk. I ignore this and told my gf to tell her to fk off

- Gf chooses me but thinks she should still be able to hangout with friend on the condition that they don’t discuss our relationship. I deny this.

- Gf is mad

What made you decide to go through her phone though?

Start doing google searches on how to build a time machine to get the 6 years back, or start reading the bible, and find a church going girl who is separated from the world.

OP, your approach has been good thus far.
All I can suggest is make sure you are spending enough time with her and show her she doesn't need her gutter trash friend - she has you.

Dont budge on the condition you set of her not seeing her gutter trash friend any more.

Asking her to give up her best friend entirely is asking a lot. I think letting her hang out with the friend on the condition they don't talk about your relationship might be smarter.

Honestly, you are in a bad situation. Your GF is probably going to be resentful if you make her give up her best friend. On the other hand, the best friend is probably going to continue trying to convince your GF to dump you. It's bad either way.
