I can't drink anymore

Late 20s. Something happened in the last year or so, whenever I have a small amount of alcohol, say 2-3 drinks, my sleep is fuked. Had 3 drinks at dinner, home by 9, couldn't sleep until 3 am. Heart rate and adrenaline up the whole time, even though the buzz was long gone. Fuk.

Large amounts (7 - 12 drinks) still put me to sleep tho

heart rate and adrenaline is up precisely because you aren't buzzed. Alcohol is a suppressant.

Anyway, welcome to late 20s/30s

Good. Alcohol is poison. Hereโ€™s to a healthier future.

I get this too. It's not that big of a deal, but most of the time I just don't drink anymore. I like drinking, but stopped doing it casually because it doesn't serve much purpose anymore.

Pretty much this. Drinking less or no alcohol is a good thing. It's not something to be upset over.

They don't. They knock you unconscious. There's a difference. You might be put under if you drink in large quantities, but you will not get good, restful sleep.

Probably drinking too much to the point you have a high tolerance or maybe dependency? And ONLY having 3 wasn't enough, when your body is used to a 12 pack at night?
