I imagine when computer chips make the next evolutionary jump to process huge data in seconds, these AI chits are going to make entire VR worlds, video games, movies etc at a simple description of the user. Gonna be interedasting to see what this does to society

Why does it seem they only use AI for writing essays, making funny pics and this sort of stuff.

if it really existed wouldnt they be using it for space research to correct landing issues and gravitational models and the like? I mean they might be using it but we never hear about it.

Seems to me they would use it for scientific research first and then eventually find hollywood type applications for it.

What about stuff like international shipping, seems they could streamline it quite a bit with ai. or air travel, Could eliminate pilots and accidents all together. hell, they cant even use it for self driving cars and they were around 7 years ago but went away and now they cant figure out how to implement them again.

Look how terrible the metaverse and stuff were. Couldn't ai simply make a great metaverse?

So when you really think about it, does it really exist or are they just saying it does to give us all some magic boogeyman to eventually use against us.

They just dust the name off when its handy and then act like it doesnt exist the rest of the time.

I believe AI will impact mankind more than any of the previous major inventions/advancements, will beat electricity, the internet, the wheel, hell even possibly fire. I believe AI is actually a key factor of the origins of the universe but you guys need to do some weed before we discuss it

Sure, the Internet started out as a military project and was envisioned as a conduit for all kinds of academic research and development.

It is used for that but something like 3/4 of the traffic is just porn.

You won't need to pay actors, models, musicians, artists, production crew etc. AI is absolute insanity forced upon us. You don't have to even use or care about it, it will be part of your reality. I pray for a catastrophic event to wipe our tech out.

This is pretty ****ing insane. I remember my friends joking about how AI could never create videos, and yet here we are, only one year later, and the quality is almost indiscernable from real life. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this and what the implications will be to society.

This is also one of the reasons the actors went on strike. Studios were trying to force actors into agreements giving the studios right to their likeness with AI.

So imagine being an actor sitting at home getting checks as you are completely AI generated into a movie.
