Went to physical therapy for the first time. Got my ass kicked.
Ive been having shoulder pain for the past year and finally decided to get it checked out. Went to an initial PT evaluation on Monday where I was put through some test and it was determined I a rotator cuff strain or small tear. After the testing we went through a few basic upper body exercises with rubber bands and super light weights. Super easy, I was kind of disappointed. He tells me we will go a little harder next time.
Today was my second appointment. I thought it was going to be like the first session but I was wrong. I worked late last night and had to be at the appointment at 0730 so I skipped breakfast - which was a mistake. I got there and it was way higher intensity than the first go around. He had me doing basically a full high intensity, high rep upper body workout with emphasis on the shoulders using free weights and machines. The session was only 30 mins but he was pushing me the whole time and by the end of it I was sweating like crazy and felt like chit. I work out a few times a week including lifting so I feel like Im in decent shape.
I heard stories of other people going to PT and it being super easy and useless. Im glad he didn't just put me through the paces with some rubber band bullchit and actually pushed me.
