Australian Welfare/Centrelink Experts: Need Help (Small Business)
I currently have a job but don’t really like being a lower-mid tier officecel.
If I was to quit my job (I have about $100k in savings working towards a deposit). If I was to start a “business” would I be able to collect Centrelink as a some type of “small business support payment” or could I lie and say I’m unemployed and collect job seeker payments while providing a second bank account with not much $ as my main bank account?
Like if I start some sort of consulting business With low overhead working online but attract 0 clients (who wants to pay a consultant with not much experience anyway). That way I can show my business doesn’t generate much or any profit.
Then when I’m ready to get another office job. I can say I have experience as an officecel and was the “Managing Director/CEO” of a consulting business…but only give prior managers as reference.
Is this feasible? I can’t go to jail or owe money to the ATO later by doing this right?
This is all hypothetical of course.
