Women with different colored nails on ring finger?

What gives?

I have seen some women these days (anywhere around NYC really) whose ring finger nail polish is a different color from the rest of their fingernails.

Universally, they look like sex workers.

This some modern signal for "I'm a sloot"?

E.g.:

I've never noticed that but 2 different receptionists at my surgeons office yesterday had different colors on each finger. Like one was pink, then blue, then pink, then blue. I think one had 3 different colors. Don't really know what that is all about.

You give them too much credit, they don't even know why they do it, just that all the other ones are doing it so they have to do it too.

It's not something I really noticed until today, where this woman sitting in a coffee shop I went to had it and was sitting nearby. It's like she went out of her way to do that. Huh.

I mean that I could get? But this 'ring finger different color' seems to send a specific signal, like the anklet being on a specific side etc.

I've noticed this trend and I asked a girl about it and she told me that's how they do it at nail salons. I don't think it's a secret sloot club initiation thing or whatever.

lol I don't know anything about the anklet/specific side thing. Hopefully when I was younger and wore them it was the non bad side.

This is probably it. They prob suggest the different/sparkly color on that finger and the women go along with it.
