2025 Ram Ramcharger Hybrid

It has a V6 engine that acts like a generator for the battery. It doesn't send any power to the axles. It has an all-wheel drive powertrain that generates a combined 663hp and 615lb ft torque. You can charge it like any regular EV if a gas station isn't around and of course you can pump gas in it. Dodge is saying you can get a combined range of 690 miles. You can get around 145 miles on the battery alone. Kinda makes you wonder why no one else thought of this before.

I don't understand why brands like ram are doing this stuff, this isn't their market segment. Government mandates?

I'd take a simple old school v8 over any of this overly complicated nonsense. It's sad everything is going in this direction, because unreliable complex cars and trucks that have shorter lifespans are somehow better for the environment.

They claim you'll be able to get one for $60k, but I'd be surprised if the majority of these don't go for six figures

Doubt that's accurate, has to be based on surveys. I don't think the DMV is giving car data to voting databases. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

government mandates are making them do all of this chit. The politicians get to use it to boast about what they did to "save the planet". The CEO's dont give a chit that their customers dont like this and they dont mind complying. The reason they dont use their weight to fight back the government on this is because they know the government will bail them out if they go bankrupt again. Look at how the government treats Tesla and that is all for the way Musk speaks his mind about them. That is why they keep making special rules for "union built vehicles" to punish Tesla even though they claim that EV's are the solution to save the planet.

You are correct it is surveys, and therefore likely inaccurate.

A lot of politicians and businessmen want everyone to be completely dependent upon batteries because it's a product where they are guaranteed to need replacement within a decade, and it supports battery sales where they're invested.

this. give me a square body from the 70's with a V8 and carb.
i'll swap the carb for a throttle body and won't have to worry about it breaking down because some sensor they have to take half the engine apart to get to is malfunctioning.

That’s actually pretty cool.

Little do you gheys know, that’s actually the same technology that they use on boats that can go far out in the deep seas. But boats and batteries don’t mix well, but if you can do it well, there’s advantages

My theory again proves why some countries are poor because they lack a knowledge of the dc motor technology.

No joke most of the reliability issues and expense for car repair is due to all the electronics modern cars have.

I've had mechanics explain to me how a simple cheap electronic part can cost thousands to fix and brick cars.

Its the same way trains have been built since the end of the steam locomotive. Solid principle, but dodge will def **** it up

As long as it can bypass the battery entirely so the generator can send power to the motors directly then its a good setup.
But if not then its a pos

690 miles? Damn perfect prepper truck

I’d say the cybertruck is the ultimate prepper ride but not everyone has 100k to spend on a truck.

So, 145 miles on a full battery then you pull over, fire up the engine to charge the battery until full then travel again?
