What is Your Favorite STEPHEN KING Book?

Probably Pet Sematary. The movies (especially the modern one) don't do the book justice

I will say, it was a little odd at the end of "Later" when you found out his uncle was his father (his mother banged her brother), and then went on to explain how the birth defects from incest are overrated and blown out of proportion. Seemed pretty weird because it had literally nothing to do with the rest of the book whatsoever.

Different Seasons - especially Shawshank and Apt Pupil. The Body was third.

Also, if you ever want to read a good book about writing, his memoir On Writing is fantastic. First half is about his life and degeneracy, and second half is how he writes.

Haven’t read one of his book in years. But I did enjoy The Langoliers and The Tommyknockers from a lifetime ago. Might read The Stand now op, thanks for the reminder.

I do recall loving his writing style.

Easily Hearts in Atlantis. Its not a horror story at all and has a little to do with the Dark Tower series. I dont even like Stephen King but this is a beautiful book. The Movie sucked and had almost nothing to do with the book. No fuking idea why it was even made since almost nobody read the book

The Stand is my favorite, the characters are amazing but my favorite one was left out of every screen adaptation.

Glad to see Tommyknockers mentioned, popular opinion is that one sucks but I loved it.

If you're into fantasy check out The Talisman, has a Dark Tower kind of feel mixed with current addiction issues.

The Jaunt was a good short story.

11.22.63 was also really good.

The Body (Stand By Me) and The Shawshank Redemption were also great short stories made into movies. Full length novels rarely translate well to film.

I remember getting the last book early in the morning from a bookstore. I read it all day and kept going on into the night, read it all the next day too and into the night, finished early morning after spending the entire night on the couch.
