No Rest for The Wicked - adventure ARPG from the makers of Ori

Had no idea this was a thing, a buddy mentioned it recently. Looks pretty interesting imo, isometric view with what I guess is Soulslike combat (stamina bar, bosses, parrying etc.), also some housing/base building, resource/item gathering and so on. Really digging the graphics and art style.

Early access opens on 18th April, no idea when a full release is coming.

Overview on features:

Kinda like the art style in Ori more tbh, but it looks alright and it's in early access anway, so hopefully they can improve on the core graphics.

Not too keen if it's Soulslike either.

However Moon studios is super talented, so I'll definitely keep an eye on it.

I'll be buying it instantly.

The developers themselves have been playing ARPGs for decades, like me. They also say it is awful to have 'loot pinatas' all the time, as an answer to Rhykker's question about 'loot filters'.

Good games don't need loot filters, period.

They need good gameplay, instead.

I loled when some content creators very much used to Diablo style play would try to face tank a giant, armor covered guy with a huge axe and try to claim the game is 'too hard'.

ARPGs aren't just 'blow up the screen and spend 10 minutes looting and on a marketplace'. They are fundamentally about action and the roleplaying element too.

I can't wait to play this game. I'm done with Last Epoch, Path of Exile (1), and Diablo 4. You can see from PoE2 showcases that the boss fights and gameplay in general is WAY slower, and also includes things that Wicked has - boss staggers, etc.
