Do Trumpers need to learn to play the ball and not the man?

It seems as if having an actual, facts and evidence-based debate with Trumpers on here is extremely difficult. Because, if you offer your side of a discussion, it's a rarity to actually see a Trumper actually consent to a civil exchang of ideas (with the rare exception of say, GaChase), and they just resort to personal insults and child-tier name calling.


Isn't it time to learn the play the ball and not the man? Resorting to lame insults isn't a good look (nor is trying to cancel anyone with a different opinion, either). Why are Trumpers such vile, hateful people? Surely it can't be good for your mental health to be in a perpetual stage of anger with no ability to control your temper. Always remember the Debate Pyramid, and check your post against it and see where you are at:

That's exactly the point. Neither arguing for leftist positions nor living far away are an excuse to resort to personal attacks and insults.

Hell, even in his post where he says people should be above name calling, he calls Trump supporters vile, hateful people. And actually he’s answered his own question. His hypocrisy, lack of self-awareness, and delusions prevent people from having discussions with him in good faith. He supports all things left and will parrot any narrative assigned to him no matter how absurd it is(like invasions at the southern border and tranny story time for children). Why not just make a general thread about how to better engage in discussion and leave it at that since there are obviously problems on both sides?
