Why do people rent?
Is it the fear of owning something valuable? Or just were unable to save a reasonable amount of money in their entire bum life?

Because the housing bubble is far overdue for a pop.
BRB spend 800K on house tomorrow
BRB month later market crashes.
BRB house now only worth 300K
BRB are paying half a million extra on something that isn't even worth what you're underwater for.
So renting can make sense for the short term

$100k+ down for a 30 year jumbo loan just to get a mediocre house? I'll pass for now.

Freedom to move where they want if needed or desired.
With interest rates being what they are it could literally be half of what you'd pay on a mortgage payment in many areas.
Many don't have a downpayment ready to part ways with yet.
Don't want to worry about maintenance and random expenses.

Well not everyone is settled in life and do not want to be tied down to a location.
Also I have a bunch of money saved up but I'm debating whether or not it's worth it to get into at least a condo at the moment. That's me, tho.

The houses basically in the same parking lot as my apartment go for 500-600 k plus.
Just regular 3 bedroom 1960's houses. Nothing at all special.
There is zero incentive to buy one of those.

Because unlike you
We aren't brainwashed into thinking taxes for the rest of your life is owning
You're getting owned by the bank ,the town ,the insurance company ,the water company
I like my freedom and bank full of money
I've done both
I miss my wood stove
That's it
Oh and I pick up my 24 Toyota next week
Paid cash
Pussy tricks you into marriage ,mortgages and kids
Just lol at being a slave to the evil gash
Freedom boys
You're here once

People trying to play this game with a primary residence are probably gonna end up bleeding out rent money and not actually gain anything on the price/cost front, it'll just be a big fat net loss.
