Do you research everything you buy?

I need a broom and dustpan.

Googling the chit out of this. There's horsehair bristle, vinyl, mixed, soft, course etc. Narrow, wide. Indoor, outdoor. Branded, unbranded, cheap, expensive. Wooden handle, bamboo handle, plastic, metal, detachable, fixed.

If I'm going to spend money on something, and it's going to be with me for a while, I need THE BEST (value).

Depends on how much they usually cost, if its over $100 then I research the crap out of it. If its below then I just search for it on Amazon and buy the highest rated and most popular.

Yes that's exactly my intent, and finding the one that works and is cheap requires research.

We offer brooms in our janitorial catalog. They are fairly straight forward. If you go to a store like Walmart, the main broom they offer is a normal household broom and dustpan. Believe it's from the 'Libman' brand.

Also, have a 'shop' or 'warehouse' broom with a long wood handle and corn bristles.

It all depends on your use

I'm in Australia. My options are K-Mart, Reject Shop, Bunnings, Big W, Mitre 10.

I can actually by a local made brand Geelong Brush which allegedly isn't made in China.

https://www.geelongbrush.com.au/

I think I will get their dustpan from The Reject Shop. Decisions decisions.

I research the hell out of anything that is over about $15 or so.

Might as well seeing as there are so many resources.

I did this recently with a mop so I can understand the broom thing.

If you spend 6 hours researching it, to save 30 bucks, you saved 5 bucks per hour. That's an awful use of time.

If you are going to be spending thousands on something, that's a different story, but spending more than 10 minutes looking at something basic is a waste.

Research has paid off. I found a specialist office supplies company near my work which offers pick-up. Prices are great and there's heaps to choose from.

I like the Redback range. I will buy quite a few things.

Ceiling and cobweb brooms 5 bucks each. (aud)

I've used a broom and dustpan often enough thst I can eyeball the options at Home Depot and make a selection without spending time researching. I can see how this wouldn't apply to miscers used to their parents cleaning up after them.

They're shaped to get in the corner. The one they call a broom will obviously get the cobwebs too. We get spiderwebs where walls meet ceilings and standard brooms aren't the best shape to get them.
