High inflation is here to stay, per the Treasury Secretary

According to yields going forward.

Guess J. Powell's theory of inflation being transient was completely off the mark.

Services inflation is here to stay, which goods disinflation can't counteract anymore.

Guess you can thank the US and their Israeli colony for wanting all out war in the ME, and Eastern Europe as well.

Don't know how this plays out for the interest on the national debt, but according to Wolf, even though we're in a really bad spot, it still isn't as bad as previous inflation spells, since inflation means higher tax receipts.

Good luck my guys. Just grind more than the next guy, and you'll be OK

Inflation is the hidden tax.
I’m getting pushed into the next tax bracket this year, so I’ll end up paying more in taxes.

If only someone could reign in government spending, but deepstate swampers wouldn’t allow that. I wonder if Trump will do a better job this next term since he didn’t really do that last term

Drumpf ran up 8 trillion dollars worth of debt in four years, and gave us 10% inflation.

It's definitely not here to stay, as the markets will eventually fix it. How long it takes to fix it is the real question though.

Decades plus, unless the central planners decide to crush everything with real interest rate hikes, which won't happen.

This was always going to be a 6-7 year process. But the cracks are already beginning to show right now in a big way.

YYou do realize that tax brackets only apply to the amount of income above that level? Not on your entire income?

So if you earn $450k and that pushes you into a higher tax bracket, you only pay that higher tax on the amount above the previous bracket.

Bro that isn’t how taxes work. The higher rate is for the dollars above the maximum in the new tax bracket you’re in.

We're in this very unnatural lending world where the yield curve is ass backwards.

It's a long-term unsustainable situation, because it basically violates the laws of capitalism. 2 year CDs pay less than 1 year CDs. Banks lend money for less than they borrow it for. Time risk doesn't exist right now. And if you think itdoesexist, than you think this situation's eventually going to change.

This yield curve will eventually unkink. The question is will the short end drop... so that long term bonds stay around 4%, but the 1 year stuff drops to say 1%. Or will the long end take off... 1 years keep yielding 5%, but 10 years start yielding 8%.

Yellen is kind of saying here that the long end is more likely to take off.... which makes a lot of sense. Part of it's that the interest rates of the 2010s were artificially low, and are just moving back towards normal. The other unpleasant part is that the US is now a giant phuckin credit risk, and that inherently comes with higher interest requirements. If a brokie making $45k a year and spending $70k a year asked you to float him a loan, you'd probably charge him interest out the azz. Our creditors are no different.

I personally think it's more likely that the long end stays about where it's at, but the short end drops when the Fed cuts rates. The government controls the short end directly, and can basically set it to whatever they want it to be. And what theywantit to be is "Cheap AF".

I've seen these craven fukkers at work for my whole life... they don't make hard decisions and they trade short-term pain for long term gain literally never. Inflation for the plebs? Fukk them, we need debt to fund Ukraine.

Either way, the long end's not going back to the 2-3% of the 2010s again, and Yellen's just acknowledging reality. A reality that she helped make though, so fukk her.

I never said I was paying a higher rate. By making more money I am paying more in taxes. Not sure what’s hard to understand about that

I know the higher tax rate only applies to the taxable income over $91k, but getting a raise to “adjust for inflation” means I make more, but I pay more in taxes.

All due to the most diabolical, evil central bank policy ever. QE.

The yield curve indicates we should be in a hardcore depression, which we aren't.

Economic theory can't explain what we're experiencing right now.

Things just keep on going as is, to an ultimate decline to third worldlism.

For each dollar of debt printed it costs more to produce some ounce of production, which America doesn't have the ability to do anymore, since we don't produce.

The economy is based of usury, and they count this as production to juice GDP statistics.

Congratulations to her discovering what many of us knew many months ago. Services inflation will keep overall inflation high. The only way services inflation calms is through a recession. Whether that happens within 6 months or takes longer is the question, as even the biggest banks and investment funds were expecting recession in 2023. It didn't materialize because of federal and more local spending through the roof. Gotta love how it gets classified as "investment" instead of govt debt spending for accounting purposes. That way they can say govt spending increases aren't high even when they are. A lot of building being done right now (i.e. the transportation hub in my city's downtown) that includes hundreds of apartments is heavily subsidized with tax debt. It's projects like that keeping the overall inflation rate high and simultaneously keeping the US out of recession, along with the huge expansion in social welfare for illegals keeping recession from having started already.

Kicking the can down the road. Whoever is Prez next year will have a recession to contend with during their Presidency unless they get Congress to spend Trillions more in debt expansion that gets classified as investments.

In all likelihood we're looking at an unemployment led recession that may not even be reflected in quarterly GDP figures. When the country is experiencing its biggest population expansion in history thanks to illegal immigration total GDP per quarter may not go down even if all other signs point to us being in a recession. Gimmicks. Gotta love the separation between reality and reports that we've seen, and and the divergence between them that will likely expand.

It also doesn't help things that oil prices shot back up during the last month. I was back to paying almost $4 per gallon a couple days ago, so this will ripple through everything else.

Also, they extended the government funding deal through Jan 1 2025, and at that point they literally won't be able to kick the can any further and will need to make at least reasonable cuts.

2025 will be a chit year regardless of who wins the election.

Inflation has been going higher here of late. No surprises about that. Over the first 2 years of being in office Biden spent what would typically be spent in 10 years. With that kind of money printing no surprise inflation remains a problem. With the GOP winning the House of Rep during the midterm, Biden's big spending has been limited some.

Biden war on fossil fuel is making inflation worse. Gas prices are high once again, and that creates higher prices on most goods such as groceries.

Saw this yesterday ~

Gas Prices Are About to Become a Huge Headache for Biden: Experts

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/202...biden-experts/

Who would have thought shutting down oil drilling in the U.S. would end up having negative consequences in an election year?

It seems that President Joe Biden and his administration failed to consider those consequences, at any rate, seeing as experts are predicting a surge in gas prices in the coming months.

Given that the November elections are perilously important for Biden and his Democratic Party, this news couldn’t come at a worse time for them.

Reuters reported Thursday that major refinery outages are mainly to blame for the projected spike in U.S. gas prices — which already have increased 9 percent since the start of the year (averaging $3.412 on Thursday, according to AAA).

It also cited other contributing factors.

New Deals At The Gateway Pundit Discounts Page At MyPillow – Up to 71% Off With Promo Code TGP

For one, according to Reuters, our stockpile of gasoline has fallen by 5.7 million barrels. In addition, drone strikes in Russia by Ukrainian forces have further affected our supply.

“There is every reason to believe gasoline prices will screech even higher going forward,” said Tom Kloza, head of energy analysis at Oil Price Information Service.

But wait, you might ask, what about U.S. production?

Why are we relying so heavily on a politically unstable country like Russia?

Well, Reuters offered a partial explanation, citing its September report that environmental activists and conservatives alike were incensed by Biden’s plan to slash offshore gas and oil leasing.

The activists accused the president of undermining the climate goals outlined in his misnamed “Inflation Reduction Act.”

Meanwhile, gas companies and conservative politicians noted that cutting oil drilling would increase fuel prices, hurting the economy and the lives of ordinary Americans.

As Mike Summers, president of the American Petroleum Institute, said at the time, “For decades, we’ve strived for energy security and this administration keeps trying to give it away.”

And now we’re seeing the further consequences of the Biden administration’s moves to cut U.S. oil production.....

Good thing that didn't happen with Trump, or because of him. Dems in Congress and at the state levels shut down half of the economy for a year, then voted for Trillions in handouts. All because of a China virus that we knew would barely affect working people, with outcomes 10-1000x worse for the non-working elderly compared to working people. I don't blame Brandon for the inflation we have. Inflation is because Congress, more localized politicians, and The Federal Reserve. Your wishing to blame Trump for the Covid overreaction is full on retard mode, even more retarded than the people (which includes many miscers) who singularly blame Brandon.

The one area I do blame Brandon is the continued war in Ukraine and the fallout economic effects that's had. It should have been over with a peace agreement in spring 2022. He does deserve blame for continuing that farce. And for supply chains being fuked for longer than they should have been. But overall it's Dems in Congress and the Federal Reserve who deserve almost all of the blame.

He did, and it is being replenished slowly, you low IQ Drumpfer.

The SPR isn't even really needed anymore, due to the US overproducing gasoline lmao.

Drumpf shut down, son.

You're gonna have to deal with that instead of coping with these retard posts.

Yep. Inflation was a result of corrupt politicians seeing the opportunity of a lifetime and using the tools at their disposal to mislead the public into giving away power.
