Do you go all the way down in order to avoid medicines?

I mean when you get ill, sick or suffer from some kind of pain etc. do you deliberately avoid taking medicine in hope that the problem will go away by itself? I try my best to avoid taking medicine...and hope for self-healing (most of the time it works).

If it's pain-no, I will pop whatever to keep going.
"Flu," or cold-chit doesn't work anyway. I never go to the doc for it unless it's been two weeks and turns out to be serious. Last time was when I had bronchitis like 15 years ago, chit lasted over a month and doc was like whatever, take this for a week and come back if it's not better.

Pretty much this.

Last time I called a doc it was for an antibiotic after 2.5 weeks of coughing up lumps of gunk.
