The answer to this type of question is easy. Are you naturally drawn towards the game, does it look like something that you want to play and could totally get into, or are you simply getting sucked into the hype and praise you hear around the internet? Don't be a consumer, be a gamer, have your own standards.

FOMO, in my opinion. Unless you have a squad you're running with regularly. As a solo player trying to solo Q, you're just not going to get consistent fun out of the game. By nature, the game is only fun if you have your own core of players.

idk man i bought it FOMO and honestly didn't like it as much as everyone else seems to hype it up.. it's fun but super difficult..Definitely a game you want to play with a team tho

I play solo with randoms and have a fun time. Worth the price at $40, HOWEVER if you aren't a fan of spending a majority of your time playing with randoms then I'd make sure I have a squad to play with before purchasing.

I'd say:
Don't buy.
I have a squad, but they played a lot more and are all level 50. If you pub, you play with the average idiot - many don't understand why looting samples is important. Or you get booted from the lobby right before evacuating, etc.
The game is also very, very repetitive. It's 'fun', but looking back I wouldn't have missed much if I didn't buy it.
