Have you looked at hotel prices lately?

Holy fuk.

Just checked prices for Moab Utah this June so I could do mountain biking. Rooms are like $180-$350 per night on weeknights LMAO. That's with no weekend nights. And June is their "off season" so if you go now "in season" it's way more money.

Moab is just this little chithole town you go to view nature. Not like Vegas or anything.

Who is booking this stuff? Absurd.

When I went to Moab I went camping. You'll be out most of the day anyway.

The great thing about these high prices is that they make it really easy to say no.

In the past, prices were at a place where they were usually high but still somewhat in the ballpark, so I'd end up paying for them. But nowadays, things are so far out of reality that I just smile and move on quickly.

And you don't even get daily housekeeping anymore - maybe once every two nights at best.

Nah I ride all summer in Phoenix. The key is pre-sunrise starts (4:30am or so)

Once you get used to it, you can't give it up. Desert sunrise is the most HNNNNnnggggg life experience you can have as an adult.

Just you and the great-horned owls cruising around the grey sunrise light in the dead silence of a sleeping world. Honestly the GOAT.

Hotels and airfare are truly out of control. This is one I definitely agree with. Everyone bitching about grocery store bills and yeah mine are a bit higher than normal there but hotel and airfare have like quadrupled their normal prices. It's bullsh*t.

LA is fun for a visit. Cool movie theaters that play movies you'll rarely see on the big screen anywhere else.

US hotels are chit tier unless you go for some boutique luxury place.

Standard rooms always chit tier with old ass carpet, nasty window AC unit, moldy bathrooms, chit tier light layout, all starting at 150 a night!!

Yeah I'm just gonna stay within a radius of home so I won't ever need to do more than 2 nights away at a time this summer. There's a little chit town in southern AZ with a population of 900 people .... Their week night rates are $180/night before fees lmao. Like ..... What are they selling us here? It's a hick town.

Prices are only fukked because people pay it. Stop renting hotel rooms and they’ll drop prices to keep customers.

Also, you’re looking at a place that has skyrocketed in popularity because of this gay azz generation being obsessed with sharing pics on Instagram

Boondock camp

Hit up the hostel type showers. Like $5 a shower. Or like someone else said, go jump in the river but it’s very silty. It would be very refreshing. My wife used to do wildland fire in Moab 10 years ago. I can’t imagine the chit show these down.

Get you some laps on the whole enchilada

I love me some dirt bag shred missions.

Paid over 200 bucks at a holiday inn two weeks ago for one night.

Dude behind the counter said that specific instance was the highest he ever seen for this hotel in the middle of no where.

I did not help our cause as I absolutely paid for it and used it.

I travel in SE Asia and hotels can be very cheap. I don't understand why anyone would travel domestically in the US for recreation. The overall cost is staggering and the service and ammenities that are provided are grim. Flights are more expensive but the overall holiday winds up being cheaper.

i use to to utilize hotels often, maybe 20-30 nights a year, but since biden became president I pretty much stopped all together with the insane prices when a motel 6 is like $200. Use to be 60 bucks
