Do you ever feel bad parting with things you had for a long time?

For example today I upgraded my TV...the old one I had at my place was from 2011.

- had the TV for years. I remember it was the TV in the apartment I shared with an ex . Anyways the TV still worked but it was basically useless and had a crack in the frame .

- gave it away to a recycling centre just now to clear up space

- I find you feel chitty parting with something you had for awhile at first , but it doesn't last long and eventually you feel good you got rid of unnecessary items etc

Exactly man . I'm really feeling the tv. It's quality over quanity

More high quality things is better than a bunch of low quality

At first I was copeing hard saying i was gonna set the TV up in my parents basement or something but then came to my senses and realized it was cope and just took it to a recycle centre

Like say you had a tv for 10 years...and you upgraded to a new one. You wouldn't be sad to see it go ?

Or another good example is cars ...tbh I wasn't even that sad when I let my first car go I had for like 6 years but I still think about it a lot and remember it vividly

Random TV no lol. I could understand a car, but at the same time they take up a lot of fkin room and most times I'd rather have the cash srs

I sold all my old consoles and Pokemon cards as a kid I wish I kept them, but mostly because of the increased value of them since

Exactly , it's just a random old tv.

Doesn't even hold sentimental value other then it was one I shared with my ex that moved away ...but I have better items like a watch I keep in a drawer I could remember her by lol

True , could see holding onto something that will go up in value. But yeah , I'm just kind of an over thinker when it comes to these things but can correct myself quickly enough

nope. if i junk it, it's worthless.
i have computer chit though from the 80's and 90's in my basement.
have sold a some 90's PC's to wanna be nerds for hundreds because they want to experience DOS and windows 98 games from before they were born on real hardware.
not a hoarder since i sold it but yeah i keep chit that's cool.

otherwise when people are lie "hey you want this piece of furniture" i tell them nope.
less is best in my living space.
basement is my private storage unit.

Depends on what it is tbh.

If I got good use out of it, I don't mind getting rid of it.

If I didn't use it much, I'll feel guilty for wasting money.

Tech is a weird one. You can't really store it because it'll be outdated in a couple of years. I try to be pretty aggressive and either trade in my stuff or give it away and let someone else enjoy it. I'm selling stuff less on Craigslist & FB due to safety & scam concerns.

I used to feel some way about parting with old stuff back in the day, but not anymore. It feels good when it still works and you can give it directly to someone who needs it. I've done that with a car, TVs, computer, mountain bike, bed, other furniture. If it's just going into the garbage, It's just stuff.

Depends what. I'm pretty sentimental so I have a tough time letting go of old stuff from when I was younger. Things like appliances are no problem, though. I don't necessary have an emotional tether to an old toaster.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*
*Fat shame my cat on a daily basis crew*

It feels nice to significantly purge at times, like a breath of fresh air. I'm planning on doing a thorough spring cleaning on my end soon. Schit piles up way too quickly.
