Most recent Rogan podcast is lulzy
Cliffs:
- Graham has been on the podcast a dozen times before. He has a bunch of wacky theories about ancient advanced civilizations here on earth.
- It always sounds fishy but no normal person has the data to dispute most of his claims.
- Joe finally invites a real archaeologist in to debate Graham
- Dude clearly knows his stuff even though he's eccentric. Demolishes most of Graham's nonsense.
- Two hours in, it evolves into Graham basically turning into a prick and Joe is clearly starting to doubt him.
Won't be that entertaining if you aren't a regular listener. But this basically blew up Rogan's longest running guest, who almost surely won't be back on.

Interesting - I did like ancient apocalypse although I recognize some of the stuff was pure conjecture.
The thing is, archaeologists also operate on conjecture, maybe not as out there as him. And they were BTFO bigly by the discovery of Göbekli Tepe - so I appreciate Graham questioning them even if some of his chit is a bit wacky

Graham Hancock has always been that wacky guy you want to be leaf but have to take with a grain of salt because he’s mostly talking out his ass. He isn’t a trained archeologist or anthropologist, just an old journalist who got bored and started writing books about ancient civilizations.

I don't think either of them really won on the content.
1. Dibble was focused solely on his specific field and evidence, which is good since that is his wheelhouse. However, he was referencing European archeological evidence and other evidence from northern latitudes. This has rarely if ever been used by Hancock in support of his theory with the exception of the location of "impacts" from his associated impact theory regarding the Younger Dryas.
2. Hancock's main argument with archeology in general is that it is dismissive of any theories and evidence that is contradictory to the established paradigm. Furthermore, Hancock provided evidence of baseless and ad hominem attacks, many directly linked to Dibble, that supports his argument that mainstream archeology is dismissive at best and slanderous/libelous at worst.
3. Bonus goes to the agricultural evidence that Dibble shared which was super interesting.
Solid episode. It is one that must be watched to really appreciate. Especially since the Dibble character looks like an actual character. Also, Graham messes with/switches between, what seems like no less than three different pairs of glasses that he uses depending on what he's looking at and how far away it is from his face.
10/10 episode and I LOL'd several times because of the antics.

"archaeologist" cant even agree what a dinosaur looks like. they basically just make things up and speculate. first they look like lizards then no they look like birds. next they'll look like fish.
The archaeologist on that podcast is in an inherently biased position, if he agrees with anything the "wacky conspiracy theorist" claims then he will be blacklisted from his industry, he will never get grants or funding again and will have to go work at Costco.

Lolwut??
Only an hour in and the guy hasn’t disproven anything. All he has is “well we’ve found evidence of people from that time that weren’t very advanced so it means no people were advanced back then”. He also tried to paint people in his field as crusaders of truth who are open to all possibilities, which Graham immediately showed was basically the opposite of the truth with multiple examples and quotes from various people. Then Graham shows some things that were somewhat advanced(as far as stone carving and structure is concerned) most likely made by humans….and the guy just laughs and goes “omg there’s no reason to think that was made by humans”. I do think Graham hasn’t taken the best approach to debate so far in, but has done alright. And I do appreciate the other guests knowledge of the field, though not necessarily his insistence on dismissing everything that doesn’t fit with the narrative(again the opposite of the picture he tried to paint in his opening statements).
Also remember that the last person on there who debated Hancock was Michael Shermer; a very intelligent person who is a world-renowned skeptic of basically all things not 100% proven. They spent hours talking about the Younger Dryas impact theory that Hancock and Carlson helped develop and promote. Shermer walked away still a skeptic, but has since publicly come around to their view stated he thinks they were/are almost certainly right with that hypothesis(as has a number of scientists that grows everyday). So it’s not like Hancock is just some kook….he's actually doing a type of investigation and pushing ideas forward, some of which have already been basically proven true.
Maybe the conversation takes some twists and turns along the way which paint a different picture, but so far poor man’s Indiana Jones hasn’t disproven anything.

Repped. I've been waiting for this to happen. I admit I got sucked in years ago. Then later I checked out some claims by a real specialist and could instantly tell he's a fraud. We can all learn from this

As someone mentioned above, as a species we’ve been walking around with these brains for over 100,000 years but we’re supposed to think that for 95,000 we were legit retards running around but then suddenly started figuring things out a few thousand years ago and ended up where we are today.
Also, out of curiosity, did the guest ever address the point that there are ancient maps showing rivers in Africa in areas that have been desert for around 10,000 years….which we can now confirm were accurate because we can see that there used to be rivers in those places?
