How the hell do I prepare for job interviews?
I've only held jobs where I do the same thing over and over again, so I can't think of using past experience to come up with answers.
Also, anyone know a good link for what questions are typically asked during the initial phone interview?
God I'm hopeless, but I need a job badly

You spend a few days thinking of questions you want to ask the interviewer.
As for the rest of it, trust your experiences knowledge and skills to get you through the interview questions directed at you.
This is not a test that you pass or fail. This is a discussion to find out if you are already a good fit for the role and it for you.
Don't fret boyo

Is this a job that you found out about through networking? If yes, just smile and be pleasant. If no, tell them you are a barely functioning retard that doesn't understand how the job market works.

I don't prepare for job interviews. When having to do interviews for new candidates it always annoys me that people seem to just be reading a script.
Whenever I ask somebody to talk about themselves they immediately dive into their experience when I'm just looking to do a casual intro and get to know them.

Look up the company online and get a feel for what the job requires.
Drive by the place like at lunch time and see how people are dressed. Dress one step above that. It shows you respect the interviewer and the process. If everyone is wearing polo shirts, wear a button down. If everyone has slacks and a button down, wear the same but add a tie. That sort of thing.
Write down a list of questions you think they would want to hear.
Not stuff like how many days off you get or what the pay is. Real stuff about the actual performance of the job tasks.
Lets say its something simple like a warehouse. Ask about the physical requirements, what type of safety equipment they provide and if you need to supply your own.
Deep down, you really dont really care about this stuff, the reason you are asking is so they think that you are thinking about the job more than the next applicant is.
Just ask like 3 questions like this when the interview is done and they ask if you have any questions.
if you say you dont have any questions, they will think you dont care about the job and will probably just hire the next guy.
As for the weaknesses, and all those standard questions, always say you either dont speak spanish or could be better at excel. Unless of course these are required for the job. These are things that would obviously be handy but not required.
Why should they hire you over someone else?- You are a man and are way more reliable and dependable than any female would be. Dont say it in those words but get the point across how you dont call in sick or need to take time off for family and stupid stuff like that. They will see you have less drama in your life that you bring to work.
Also mention that you are good at taking criticism and learning from your bosses. They love to hear this because most people are complete idiots and hard headed and wont take constructive criticism that would make theirs and their supervisors job easier.
Combine these few simple things and you put yourself head and shoulders above the other applicants.

"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda
