One of the few things that pauses me is space.

The vastness absolutely blows my mind. There’s no way we’re alone, 100% sure life is out there.

Long video but it’s super interesting and takes your mind on a wild ride for sure with the explanation of how everything unfolded.

Apparently the energy that was released by the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima was the result of 0.7 grams of matter being converted into energy. That blows my mind. Doesn't even compute.

Andromeda galaxy from Earth is 2.537 million light years away. If we could travel at the speed of light, 695,000,000 miles per hour (Fuarkk)

It would take 2.5 million years to reach it.

And if you really want a mindfuk, look into the Manhattan Project and the manufacturing that went into making that .7 grams of matter. An entire industry sprang up with over 20k employees working around the clock in what was at the time THE largest building in the entire world.

Yeah I took an Astronomy class in college and a lot of what I learned in that class still blows my mind today. Basically that everything in the universe is hydrogen until it gets converted into other atoms and most atoms are made from stars accreting so much hydrogen the atoms press and fuse together to make higher mass atoms. When you look at the lifecycle of a star, pretty much all the matter in the universe is created in a supernova. In an instant all that fusing atomic material turns into the calcium, zinc, gold, etc. It's crazy to know that the calcium in our bones and the iron in our blood came as the result of a supernova explosion. for ****s sake bros it's too much to deal with.

lol to be honest I had no idea what "light years" meant until a couple years ago. Exactly as you said; will take X million amount of Earth years to get thereif you are traveling at the speed of light.Also crazy how when we look at the Andromeda galaxy through a telescope, we are at that moment, seeing it as it was 2.5 million years ago.
