Why do I see commercials for jews in dire poverty living on a carrot every 2 days?

Why do I see commercials for jews in dire poverty living on a carrot every 2 days?
With so many rich jews in the world -- why have I seen these commercials all my life showing 85 yr old women in tears digging in the ground saying they live on a single carrot every few days?
Some sort of Christian/Jew coalition will ask for $50/month to send these Holocaust survivors a box of food.
Is it legit? If so, why hasn't some billionaire Jew put an end to it? Surely it wouldn't cost THAT much to make sure what little Holocaust survivors remain have food?
