Was Reagan and Reaganomics a positive force for the US?
We have similar debates in the UK about the ending of the postwar consensus (which involved a greater role of the state in certain things especially nationalisation of core industries) and Thatcher's tenure. The two coincided exactly more or less.
With the Reagan movie coming out did he actually embody fiscal conservatism in a meaningful way (discussion 1) and if he did relative to what came before was this a positive force for the country (discussion 2)?
