EVs are easy to make
If you were stuck somewhere with unlimited raw material and tooling and needed to make a car to survive, would you be able to make an electric one or gas one first ?
You think you can design a gasoline engine and machine the thing?
Electric cars are simple
Within a couple years you could wind an electric motor

China is just going to copy the technology and flood the market with EVs
It is hard to get engines/transmissions/etc right
Electric motor and batteries = cake

So China dominates the US auto industry
Jobs gone
fuel station jobs gone
Guy who services the pumps gone
Oil and gas jobs gone
Trucking jobs gone with self driving
Uber jobs gone
Amazon and delivery jobs gone
Mechanic jobs gone (just tires and toss the cars once the next model is out)
Once self driving cars can drive back to a home location, no need for multiple cars or even to own a car, just do a car share program
