My girlfriend wants to buy a pontoon soon. It will be kept on an intercoastal waterway in Florida, no boatlift. She wants to keep price at or under $30k cause it's gonna weather hurricanes and chit. Ideally if we could get a tri pontoon with a 150hp 4 stroke that would be ideal and does to seem to be plenty of options in that price range... Anyways, I don't know a lot about pontoons on saltwater. Looks like you can buy corrosion anodes for the aluminum pontoons as well as the motor. For pipelines anodes are good for 10+ years unless they short out, is it similar on boats? I also read it's ideal to get vinyl flooring and a splash plate under the boat to protect the wood from rotting as well. Anything else to be mindful of for the salt? I am aware it's good practice to flush the motor with freshwater after each use.
