I heard contradictions about this. Growing up, I have seen so many males call females ugly, at least behind their backs and women and girls obviously care about their appearance more. That's why they wear make up while males don't. I just found out that a girl committed suicide this year for being bullied and humiliated by a boy(she had a crush on), because he called her ugly in front of the whole class.

But I also heard incels say "ugly men are treated like trash".

I do agree that men have it harder when it comes to getting dates and they get rejected more than women do. But it seems like women and girls get called ugly more than men and boys do.
