I've been listening to him off and on for years since 2000 or so and I remember listen to a "loveline" (with Dr. Drew) and some random caller called in and said he worked at MGM Grand in Vegas.

Carolla axed him who the worst celebrity guest is and he said after some pressing by Adam "Bill Cosby" (america's dad at the time). He asked why and caller said he alway requires 2 MGM staff (alpha males) to be with him at all times even in his hotel room and they couldn't talk to each and had to WATCH him eat his food silently. Like literally watch him not watch over him. AND he would never ever TIP them despite making $100K a show or something.

turns out many people said the same thing about him 20 years later.
