Why do people act like full basements are automatically creepy?

What's wrong with a fully finished full basement? What's so creepy about drywall and recessed lighting?

Who thinks full finished basements are creepy?

It's the ones that aren't finished, and leak, concrete blocks and dirt and spider webs, and crammed full of stuff from 100 years ago. That are creepy.
