Just watched Twisters; my thoughts (no major spoilers)

I just left the movie theater about 20-30 mins ago.

Overall - it's a fun movie. I found the characters likable, the tornado scenes are credible and intense, and the plot flowed smoothly. For a casual summer action film, you can't go wrong. I totally loved the Americana / Western setting and vibe, and there's some good songs throughout from artists like Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Megan Maroney, and Luke Combs ("ain't no love in Oklahama / just the whistle of a long black train")

I've heard some people say the movie takes liberties with the science of a tornado: I'm no meterologist, so I don't know. But none of the science displayed in the movie required me to suspend belief too outrageously

I'd say the movie's biggest flaws are the cliches and predictability. No major spoilers: but our protagonist Kate meets Tyler, the "Tornado Wrangler" whoappears to be a douchebag social media influencer. But once you see Tyler, you immediately see that he's very handsome and charismatic, so you can tell that our hero Kate will befriend him, realize he isn't so bad, and then up romantically with him. Likewise, you just know that Kate's friend Javy (who also has feelings for her) would get the friendship-zone because Anthony Ramos doesn't have the model looks. For those same reasons you just know right away that Kate would end up ditching Javy's stuffy's corporate team for Tyler's scrappy, underdog group of misfits.

Some areas in the film also are badly unexplored, like the villain Riggs who supposedly capitalizes off tornado damages. The conclusion also doesn't seem to leave much room for a sequel, but we'll see.

Overall though - I recommend

They're trying so hard for the lead actor, forgot his name, to be the next big thing in Hollywood. Lulz.

The female though I like. She has star quality.

Loved the original. Will stream this for free or wait.

The character is Tyler, the Tornado Wrangler. The actor's name is Glen Powell. I never heard of him before actually, though I see he was in Top Gun (which I've never seen)

Glen Powell. He was perfect on Top Gun 2 as the side character jerk with a heart in the end.

as a lead, not a fan. i got roped into seeing "hit man" with him as the main and he just didn't have it in my opinion.

Right? There's some roles he'd be good at. But like you said, he ain't a leading man.

I thought the first half hour of hit man was really good and quite funny and I thought he was doing well.

That movie did a hard 180 when they introduced the love interest and it turned into a corny ass movie so I never finished it.

But yeah there's just like this small group of actors and actresses who are being thrust down our throats in every fukkin movie. It's getting tiring
