NCAA 25 Thread

Thought about posting this in the sports section but decided to go here. Anyone else playing this one? I’m not a Madden player so it’s taking me a while to get my feet under me. Was overwhelmed for a while and not gonna lie, kind of frustrated at lack of guidance built into the game. After some research and practice it’s coming together, but I’m sure there is a LOT more to it than I’ve seen at this point. That should keep it from getting repetitive, and I’m sure it’ll be a lot more fun once I’m comfortable enough to play against online opponents. Right now just getting familiar with the mechanics and controls, and learning the difference plays/schemes. Enjoying it more and more each day though. Anyone else started yet?

I like the gameplay but I think the away game crowd noise impact and the wear & tear mechanics are a bit overblown currently.

Can't even use my RB for one quarter without "High Risk of Injury" or him just sitting for an entire drive. Its a little bit too much.

I don't play Madden and was still playing NCAA 14, so the simple change in how you run option plays is driving me nuts. It used to be press/hold the button to give to the RB, now you press/hold the button to keep it. Its killing me!

Defense also needs to be figured out. I was amazing on defense in NCAA 14. I'm not playing as a power house team, but still absolutely any team I play against moves the ball and scores like its nothing. Even FCS teams are throwing to wide open guys regardless of what coverage I call. They are getting 400+ yards passing per game no matter how terrible they are.

Only other complaint is the dynasty mode seems to be lacking. So many features, menus, and just... depth seems to be lacking.

Overall, the game is fun though. They did a good job, but it needs to iron out a few things still.
Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.

Performance and performance alone dictates the predator in any food chain.

Its not bad online h2h is rage inducing no defense at all. And after awhile it really does feel like a faster Madden.

Played it like a full time job this weekend, got a couple dynasties going one with a few friends. Servers aren’t working on it anymore not sure what the deal is. My other online dynasty create a team works fine.

Don’t play online, not tryna turn my fun into a sweat fest that is any PvP online game (except against people I know irl)

Yeah I’m assuming some of the big complaints like tackling issues will get sorted out in some of the first updates. And honestly I haven’t dove in deep enough to know what complaints I have about a lot of the stuff. Not gonna start building a dynasty or traveling the road to glory until I get better at playing, so I’ve basically just been completing challenges and playing practice games. I have a pretty good football mind, but getting used to all of the different options and familiar with controls (like calling in a RB to help with pass protection since everyone will be blitz heavy) will take some time. Stumbled across this article which hopefully you can find some good information in.

https://www.theringer.com/platform/a...de-millennials

Like I said earlier one of my complaints was lack of guidance built into the game, even during practices and challenges. If I’d never read that article who knows how long it wouldn’t taken me to realize you can guess pass in obvious passing situations to speed up your d-lines time to shed their blocker. As someone who hasn’t played any of these games in 10+ years I have some serious catching up to do.

I agree, they need to be nerfed they're just a bit too overwhelming.

I turn injuries off, but I like wear and tear so it still adds an element of damage to manage and having to rest people. But its nice to not have a key guy randomly go down for multiple games etc.

For the away stuff, yea needs to be nerfed but they wanted to make sure the abilities really mattered. Makes a huge difference having players that can negate those things

I was going to buy it because everyone is saying its a different game style and play than madden so its not just a re-skin of madden 24/25..

only to find out the fukers didn't port it to PC.. I really liked madden 24 on the PC vs console.

I agree that they should stay but they're just a little TOO much right now, especially if you're not playing as a powerhouse school. Not being able to hot route a receiver or call an audible or even run a hurry up offense because of crowd noise definitely detracts from the fun factor.

I don't have a problem with the mechanics in general, but it feels like they cranked the effects up to 11 and it detracts from having fun.

I just turn these features off, i'm trying to have fun, not trying to let the game decide when and where I lose

Do you but I think it adds to the experience and isnt "the game deciding". It makes sense to have home field impact you and for players to have injuries/fatigue, thats real life

injures are fine, i like that randomness, but home field advantage is just crap and never been good since implemented in madden.

I turned off wear and tear, not a fun mechanic.

Also going to turn off home field advantage. Was playing a road game and when I went to view my play the wrong play shows up and receivers just have question marks over their heads ? How the fuk is that fair. I’m not memorizing every play and which receivers are which button, zuk ma dik. Lost because of it too.

Enjoying it more and more each day, but did have a vision of college football season coming up and realized there’s gonna be a lot more people screaming about how dumb coaches are while thinking they know everything about football.

I think they're good ideas that need to be toned down. The home field stuff can happen in Madden too and its almost impossible to function those games.

I haven’t gotten that deep into the game yet, but can’t you have QBs that are better or worse at dealing with it? I’d also imagine they make the impact lessen after each away game a qb and team play. That would be more realistic.

realistic would be your players having a higher chance of jumping offsides

not realistic is the squiggly lines and that's currently implemented. just because there is crowd noise doesn't mean your QB suddenly forgets every WR's routes the entire game.

The routes themselves aren't awful for me, but the buttons disappearing can go the fuk away for sure.

Not really sure what better way there would be to simulate the nerves and pressure that go along with playing in those environments.

The squiggly lines don't mean you forgot the route. You should know the play you called. Its to represent focus and composure. You can't just use play art

Waiting for them to patch some things, like jet toss pass being so hard to stop with over committing like a maniac.

Overall I like the game. I have a solid record in online ranked play. Have a dynasty going with 18 of us, custom conferences. My team I play in both with is K-State, solid fast running qb and a couple good rbs

It’s a video game. My QB is a 70 cause I created a team and was playing at Penn state and it ruined the game. Stupid mechanic

this lol.

There are probably some better ways, but I'd rather they have it as it is than nothing. Composure and experience esp in College Football matters.

This is always the problem with these sports games, there are fans that want realism and then normies that bitch and moan if somethings too hard even if its realistic.

A 70 QB playing in Happy Valley should have a tough time. That makes sense. Thats realism.
