Are gym fees still negotiable?

-Gym at my apartment was good
-New manager decides the gym needs to be renovated
-Now apartment gym is garbage and I can barely get a decent workout in

There are a few Anytime Fitness locations on my commute to/from work. They have a $25/every two weeks plan (lol wtf?) but that's kind of bull**** and paying full price is lame. Can you still negotiate fees? Or is that pretty much set by corporate office?

The other gyms nearby are Planet Fitness, a Snap, and I think maybe a Crunch. I'm sure it will be the same ordeal

Usually you can if you offer to pay a full year upfront. That's worked for me

Yeah the plans they offer are for a year-long contract. I'm not sure wtf is up with the every-two-weeks payment plan, either.

But I guess I was under the assumption commercial gyms have their fees set by corporate so they might not be negotiable. I guess I'll see

I have a Crunch and it's $25 for the month to have access to gyms nationwide. $25 every 2 weeks is a bit steep, especially for a f*cking Anytime Fitness which usually doesn't even have much equipment in it. The Crunch membership is worth it.

Planet Fitness weights stop at like 70 lb DBs and they don't have any barbell work so they are out. No idea what Snap's are like.

To answer your question though most commercial gyms aren't going to negotiate with you. I'm not even convinced the people who sign you up in those places have the authority to negotiate even if they were willing.

Interdasting. I've heard Anytime Fitnesses are decent, I haven't been to this particular one yet. Hopefully the price reflects the extra equipment.

I checked near my commute and its almost all commercial gyms.

Maybe the Anytime near you is better. The ones I've seen have been garbage.

Also if you're not obese you put less strain on the upholstery, which saves the gym money

Chances are we're paying for the lardasses that break down equipment and break the toilet seats in the bathrooms
