Saw Twisters Today

Went in not expecting much and it was a lot better than expected.
I appreciated that they didn’t go full fledged nostalgia train but had enough little bits to tie into the original.
Much better than the majority of what I’ve seen lately and not overly woke which was a big plus obviously.
7/10 would recommend.

See sig.

I am just seeing all these remake of old movies coming out.

Do these people not have some creative juices to come out with anything better?

It like a sequels to old movies from the past. It is like we get it.

Hasn't been one movie out that I was thrilled to see.

Das it boyo. Twister is one of my favorite movies.

I'm glad to hear it's a solid sequal like film to it. Was thinking it was just going to be a bust like most movies that try to do something similar to this.

Want to see it now.

Still on spread brah.

First movie was iconic, but I doubt I'll see this.

It helps them get producers onboard given that there’s a legacy there.
As far as recent movies the last solid one I’d seen was Top Gun: Maverick, and before that Ford v Ferrari.
Unfortunately the majority of others I’ve seen have been woke straight garbage, or both.

It’s not as solid as Top Gun: Maverick as far as sequels go, however it’s definitely a fun watch. Harkens back to the summer blockbuster popcorn flicks of the late 90s/early 2000s.

I hear you man. My buddy I went with was super pumped and I told him I didn’t want to get overly excited given how many movies were let downs these days.
No, it wasn’t perfect but it was still a fun movie overall.
I rarely go to the actual theater these days but I’m glad I did for this one.

To add to the post, I get it’s easier to stream but some movies are better in theaters, especially if you can go when there’s hardly anyone there.
My logic too is going to see movies like this or Top Gun helps to potentially tell studios to start making good movies again.

Lmfao two buddies I told that I saw Twisters thought I meant in person.
While I am in Texas, tornadoes are pretty rare down my way.

I agree. Creative movies started to go south around 2005 and by the time 2010's rolled around it was just superhero movies and remakes of older movies. It's really bad.

Yall aren’t wrong. The sweet spot for me for movies and tv shows is the late 90s and early 2000s.

Honestly this could’ve been its own standalone movie, I think they just went with it being a sequel to ensure the following.

Good to hear it's a decent movie. I've been meaning to see it, maybe I will go today. My standards for Hollywood movies are so low today I consider it a major success simply if a new movie doesn't entirely suck. Although, I am gravely fearing the Crow remake is going to suck some major ass.

I like Glen Powell as well. The Hit Man movie on Netflix is pretty good too.

I agree with you as far as standards. Powell is showing he can help carry bigger movies too so hopefully this trend continues.
Haven’t seen that one as we don’t have Netflix anymore but I appreciated him in Maverick.

I’ll give it a watch, not sure if I’ll catch it in theaters though..

Did you see Furiosa, the Mad Max movie? Was it woke AF?

It was solid, didn't go in expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Didn't feel like the 2hrs that it was.. although I was disappointed it didn't have more Kiernan Shipka.

I did a double feature with Longlegs and she was in both, but only small parts..

Does it have a steak and eggs scene?

Heard that the film'd director wanted to make a film that was focused on just entertaining people and not preaching to people about climate change and other bs.

You do you bro! Had a slow day at work so it was a good time to catch a movie lol.
I didn’t, the lead chick in that one bugs me (eyestoofarapart/10) and I have trouble watching a Mad Max movie sans Mad Max.

I had to look her up, yeah she didn’t have a very big part. Good looking woman though.

There is an eating scene but it didn’t compare to the spread at Aunt Megs.

And yeah I’m proud of the director for that srs. Hope it makes a lot of coin so others take note.

It was pretty garbage. OG is way better. Main sloot was a bad choice for female lead.

Only saw it in theaters once but damn if that wasn’t a hell of a movie man. Got goosebumps when the theme played and then again when Mav proves the mission is possible (lol)
When it came out my buddy bought a new sound bar and made a badass lunch spread and we watched it again.

I didn’t say it beat the original (actually has a higher IMDb rating than the OG which I don’t agree with) but it was still a fun movie. And aren’t female leads a bad choice in general? lol
I think part of it is perspective too as if you look at other movies, it doesn’t take as much for a movie to seem good in a room full of stinkers if that makes sense.

Didn’t say you did brah.

Fact of the matter is, Twisters is basically just a remake of the original with significantly worse writing, a worse cast, and none of the charm.

Fair enough brother. Going in expecting it to suck like most modern movies probably helped lol
