why do I want to drink more than initially planned when I start drinking?

before I drink I'll try to plan ahead and say "ill drink x amount" but after I take that first sip, my brain keeps saying "drink more! we want more past x amount!"

why is this?

Because drinking is super fun, and honestly you'll probably have a bit of a hangover the next day regardless so you might as well make it worth it.

Super fun? Maybe I'm missing something.

Where does the fun part come in? Please let me know

Drinking makes you lose inhibition.

So when drunk you say "aw fukit, lets have more!"

Its that simple.

If you're not having fun while drinking, you aren't doing it right.

I had a routine for a couple years that was pure bliss. Usually would start drinking at a dive bar at 5pm when they opened on Friday, and would probably have a total of something like 8-10 total drinks in 2 hours. Then after being sufficiently drunk, I'd go over to my buddies place(and he also coincidentally was my Pepsi dealer as well), and he would usually have people over by that point. And we would drink and do Pepsi and play drinking games for like the next 8 hours. Too bad that group kinda broke apart, but it was for the best.

Here's the actual answer: Dopamine is the substance that feels amazing and causes drug addiction.

With booze your body releases dopamine only while blood/alcohol levels are increasing. If you maintain a buzz the dopamine goes away, you have to get drunker and drunker to keep the dopamine flowing.

I’m like that. It’s called binge drinking. I’ve actually lost 2 jobs in my life because I started drinking in a Friday or Saturday and just kept going until like Wednesday. I’ve learned now lol but it’s crazy. I recently found those thc vapes and wow they are awesome. I just hate jobs test for this stuff. Like one hit off this thing takes away all my pain and helps me sleep super good. Then 2 weeks later I could fail a drug test. Stupid

Literally never had a plan to limit myself. Was a blackout drunk in my early 20's then sober for many years. Finally found the truck to drinking as much as I want without getting bad hangovers-- Michelob ultra srs. Can drink like 10-12 of them and as long as I get 7 hours of sleep I barely feel chit the next day. Do not recommend this kind of degeneracy but if it helps you try it..
