LA/California brahs.... is cali really as bad as they portray it to be?

i think last time i was there was back in 97 or something ..... but are the cities in cali really as bad ....la,sf,sacramento,s.d etc etc ... cause whenever i read cali. i remember trees and the ynez mountains

chithole, streets smell like piss, junkies and homeless everywhere. went to a public toilet and it was full of 'em.

There are still some nice places left but the major cities are becoming progressively third world.
