VP Nominee Tim Waltz Voting Record

2017: Cosponsored the American Promise Act, introduced by Rep. Nydia Velazquez, to increase chain migration

2017: Voted in favor of increasing foreign worker visas Rep.Walz voted in favor of H.R. 244, the 2017 omnibus spending bill.

2015: Voted for the FY2016 Omnibus Spending bill to increase foreign guest workers

2012: Supported a motion to increase foreign worker visas Rep. Walz voted in favor of the motion to recommit H.R. 6429, the STEM Jobs Act of 2012 (Rep. Lamar Smith)

2018: Cosponsored H.R. 6135, the Keep Families Together Act, to weaken enforcement and increase refugee

2017: Cosponsored legislation to increase refugee intake

2017: Cosponsored the Dream Act, introduced by Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard to grant amnesty to young illegal aliens Rep. Walz cosponsored H.R. 3440, the Dream Act of 2017. This legislation would grant amnesty to an estimated 3.3 million young illegal aliens.

2015: Voted in FAVOR OF funding Executive Amnesties by opposing clean DHS Appropriations bill

2015: Voted against Blackburn Amendment to H.R. 240 to defund Pres. Obamas DACA amnesty

2013: Voted against King Amdt to DHS Appropriations bill to prevent amnesty by prosecutorial discretion

Hes an open borders radical.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) has signed a Democrat-approved bill into law that will give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.

Specifically, the law now reverses a 20-year-old law across Minnesota that required those seeking driver’s licenses to be either legal residents or American citizens. Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) signed that law.

Walz signed legislation to allow minors to get sex-change operations in Minnesota. He signed a bill to require schools to stock period products in boys’ bathrooms.

Under Walz’s leadership, Minnesota gives free college tuition to illegal immigrants.

Ironically enough, MN is the State where Trump go his highest % of the black male vote at 30%.

Title of thread auto corrected his name to Waltz…lol fitting.

From a strategic standpoint, if you can win 6 elections in a red district with that voting record, then you have to be pretty good at campaigning.

Don't think it matters.

So much of this is personality and 'feels'.

Trump, who is very much a moderate with a yappy New York Yank mouth will enrage people on the left, even some of them who are probably closer to in actual policy to Trump than pretty far-left Waltz or Kamala.

I rarely see anti-Trumpers talking much about policy, I don't think it matters.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Walz is a highly liked governor who relates to rural Midwest America. Plus he gets actual good policy passed. Former school teacher and soldier

Great pick

He will literally destroy JD Vance in any sort of debate. Vance is an anchor on the Trump campaign

This, nobody on the left actually cares about policy. Otherwise, we would see people other than right wingers trying to understand.

There is a lot of truth to that. But when it comes to campaigning, your VP's #1 job is to make the Presidential candidate look good. That's why nobody should really want a sexy pick for VP or someone with too much charisma. Batman and Robin might make a good combo, but if the writers began to give Robin more charisma and make him a bigger hero, then people will start to lose interest in the main character, Batman, which is who they are tuning in for (or in this case voting for).

Having said that, looking at Walz record, he must be a pretty good campaigner. Like I said, you don't win a red district 6 times with that voting record unless you know how to win over voters. So, Republicans shouldn't completely let their guard down here either.

Yes the rural Midwest America will support a hardcore leftist liberal who is famous for being weak on crime and allowing his state to burn by the protesters. He's one of the most far-left politicians in the country right now, and all his policies are extremely liberal. This will definitely appeal to the average rural American lmao.

You have no clue what you're talking about.

JD Vance is a very solid and polished speaker, and looks way more appealing than the old white creep who's famous for calling someone "weird". Walz gives off the same creep vibes as Tim Kaine who got rekt in 2016. And I'm saying this as someone who thinks that Vance is a terrible VP pick - but not as terrible as Walz, the Democrats definitely shocked me today.

What do people think of Tim Walz?
A new national NPR/PBS/Marist poll released Tuesday, before Harris made her pick, showed 71% of Americans saying they've never heard of Walz or don't have an opinion of him. Among those who do have an opinion, 17% viewed him favorably versus 12% who viewed him negatively.

lets see how these numbers change while the parties campaign and more info about him gets out.

I dont disagree, but..

Pick one:

Red District

(D) won 6 times

The district voted for Obama twice and I believe Al Fraken (D) senator in 2014 and Klobacher (D) senator in 2006/2012/2018.

It started to tend back red and Walz was on his way out with getting only 50.3% of vote in 2016.

Most Americans want the same things, 65% want to stop illegal immigration and have felt that way for decades, a majority of dems probably want illegal imigration(don't care to check) but if the 30-45% of them that don't, don't vote for the D or vote for Trump then policy matters.

If the 65% that don't want illegal immigration vote for the D then policy does not matter.

What matter more than policy? Social justice? Americans want $$$ first and foremost.

The bottom line is Americans generally don't get what they want no matter who they vote for.

How does 65% of Americans want something for so long and not get it?

Is it possible for a majority of Americans to want something and actually get it?

Are we run by vote of the People?

If we are I can't tell.

Will we stop the illegal immigration problem by 2030? 2035? 2050?

I think we won't end it if even 90% of Americans want it to stop.

Imagine actually thinking a former school teacher and soldier would destroy a former U.S. marine and editor of the Yale Law Journal in a debate.

Fair point. Although they also voted for Bush in both elections and for Trump by 10+ points both elections. And even though he was on his way out, Walz still won during that time and he also won it as Governor.

I'm just saying… there is something in those numbers that shows this guy has some kind of ability to win over voters. For a far left liberal to win that district 6 times in Congress and then again as Governor says something about his ability to campaign. I'm just saying, I wouldn't underestimate him yet.
