Eat one cheesecake and drink a bunch of water, then tell me how much weight you've lost the next day.

Even while maintaining I can gain at least five pounds in a day from cheesecake and water.

This. I went from 196 when I started the carnivore and I've been between 178-180 the past 4 months. Very lean and in very good shape though.

Your weight will regulate at some point.

You store up to 2 lbs of glycogen in the liver, which is 4/5 water. So, almost 10lbs of weight from carbo loading.

Not full, this might stay around 5-6 lbs before you cut carbs.

question though…

does this mean when you eat carbs you actually weigh less…? and are leaner? maybe not leaner

but still.. interesting i guess your weight could drop 10lbs but it not be fat..

i actually wasn't surprised at the weight loss on carnivore… but i was surprised how quickly my weight shot up when going back to carbs

I did keto eight years ago, and went from 187 to 177. I was decently lean at 187 too. I ran keto for six months at 3500 calories almost on the date for those months. I stopped and went back to 2000 calories and carbs. I lost another four pounds. I ended up at 174 and looked sort of emaciated lol.

I'm for real thinking about blowing it out of the water tomorrow with cheesecake and all that jazz. We have a party right now at my house with 54 people. I had to duck out because that's too many people. We got cakes and all sorts of evil things in there tempting me.

i dont get it.. honestly if i cared enough, i'd get a blood panel

but my insulin must have been fuked up

i have an active job and during that keto time i was VERY active. i mean… just walking to where i was working was like a 20 minute walk (backpack with tools + belt). then walking up ~ 5 or 6 flights of stairs just to get to the work area. do that at the start and end of everyday

then we're talking some days walking chit loads more going up and down those steps 5 and 6 times

doesn't begin to include the actual work

my maintenance HAS to be over 2k calories. im not sure what it is but when i want to lose weight i keep it below 2k because i know i'll lose weight

but i was stuck around 190-195 for whatever reason.. dont even know. i got down to 185 on keto and would see like 191 or 192 if i bloated up.. as soon as i started carbs back i started seeing regular weight at like 191-193 and then bloat at 195-197 and i know for a fact there's no way i increased calories enough to gain that much weight. or that its even possible to gain 10lbs within a week or 2 without something drastic

anyways, im just going back to eating well and trying to build muscle

had too many nights i went to bed hungry and barely saw chit

my maintenance has to be around 3k, so i have no idea why a bit below 2k wouldn't see anything. other than insulin disallowing it. i tried to keep carbs below 20.. also with my job its hard to keep energy at those levels

I probably will stick with it. I have enjoyed feeling this way. There are no cravings. I don't even usually like stuff like cake. There is a lemon doberge cake in there though. THAT rascal is what's really tempting.

Just do straight carnivore. Beef, eggs, seafood (if you can handle it), bacon, butter, salt, water. Give it time and stick with it. I've been doing it for 8 months and I have been staying between 178-180lbs without lifting and my body keeps recomping and getting leaner.

I did keto several times before carnivore, and this is way different. I felt flat and sort of weak on keto despite feeling good. I lost more fat/weight on carnivore, but feel even stronger and look better. All health issues gone completely. If I added carbs back in I bet I'd get right back up to 196lbs like when I started.

Well I had cravings for the first two weeks along with major squirts. Once I got through that it was like the world opened up to me and I became a new person. The no cravings is great. I've cheated several times on purpose over the last 8 months and every time the carbs/sugar don't taste good to me. It's just okay and then I just go back to craving meat and eggs.

This is the easiest diet I've ever done too. Love it.

On day two or three, I had the squirts pretty bad but just once. Just today I had a massive movement and it was unpleasant because it was hard. I feel like that will be the last time it's super hard, though.

i felt leaner for sure…

BUT the energy levels man.. im not joking. walking up the first flight of stairs in keto was excruciating

and then it was the summer in florida on black asphalt roofs - so 100% humidity and then added heat from the black

eating at a caloric deficit was a horrible time

i got sick a lil into it and was like fuk this, gonna up my calories

i will say in the beginning it was hard to eat no carb but later on i actually found it easier. replacing some of the carbs with fat

Yea most people just have it a few days. Some people like me get screwed lol. I had a short period too of hard poops but I just ate more fat by adding butter to my ribeyes and haven't had any issues since.

I felt great on keto as well. Just eventually felt a little weaker and thinner where carnivore resolved that. Carnivore just feels like keto on steroids.

Yea the first time I did keto I had a long period of getting into it. Little energy, felt off, a little weak. Then a switch flipped and felt great. Carnivore I felt great from the get go besides the squirts and cravings. Energy is amazing on this diet. I don't even track my calories, but most days I eat between 3.5k-4k calories easy.

Yesterday I had 2lbs of ribeye with homemade bone marrow butter, and like 1/3 block of raw milk cheese. Just for dinner. That's like 3100 calories.

idk I liked keto but not sure if it was the veggies still or other things I would have that just didn't sit right with me still. Like it kept me from feeling like I do on carnivore and carnivore took care of any other issues I still had.

Nah tell them to leave. Say you need to butter up before bed you're a carnivore now.

They'll understand.

I am 250 lbs. when I start to diet it will be easy to go to 225. From there on it becomes impossible and the body starts fighting back.

If you drop weight over 2 weeks, it's not even the real fat, it's just water, glycogen, and bloat (food in stomach).
