Poll: Do you take anything for sleep regularly?

Poll: Do you take anything for sleep regularly? Say more than once a week?

Lately it seems like everyone you talk to is on at least melatonin for sleep. Starting to wonder how people slept in the past since our entire country can't sleep without assistance.

Every night I take 5mg A m b i e n
and
1mg Melatonin

Knocks me out in like 20 minutes. I honestly am not sure if it's healthy to take A m b i e n every day like this, but I've been taking it for like 5 years now and no obvious problems yet. In the past I was always irritable from lack of sleep, and this has completely eliminated mood swings and greatly improved general overall wellbeing. Would love to find something that isn't a perscription, but not aware of anything.

Me too, except I take 10mb nightly and I take 5mg melatonin. Going on about 10 years now, no issues.

I'm sure it's not ideal and honestly it does worry me, but… I guess I'm just praying for the best. It helps me sleep and I have a really hard time sleeping without it.

So you have a doc that just gives it to you? I do too

Yeah, I have a doctor that gives me 10mg tabs, and I break them in half and take 5mg. Helps me save up for when I need like a 3 month supply while traveling and I can't get any overseas.

I would take melatonin about two hours before bed, and it worked, but it would give me terrible nightmares, which was kinda cool, so on the weekends I would take like 30mg mixed with benadryl, which is also a sleep aid at high doses, so that I could have resident evil style nightmares.

I have since stopped taking all that, and have stopped taking anything with caffeine, and after a few months I stopped having issues sleeping.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

I get crazy nightmares from melatonin too - not something you hear from many people

Smart, I have like no extra supply. Wish I did. If my doc ever retires I'm in trouble lol.

I hope it's not bad, been doing it for so many years.

I'm sure a lack of sleep is also unhealthy, and at least I sleep good

my guess would be taking it is better than sleeping 2 less hours a night or something… but i'd personally be looking for a way to fix sleep withou it.

I mean there are some risks(people have sleepwalked and died before), not to mention some of my craziest lifetime experiences have happened while on A m b i e n(and happened because I was on A m b i e n), but the drug leaves your system and doesn't have any issues.

not gonna debate but that sounds like cope. there's lots of stories and evidence and reasons why it's risky.

Of course, I just gave you the reasons. I've found it's most problematic when mixed with other drugs. On its own I haven't had any issues.

In the past people didn't stare at screens all day

I take ZMA mainly for the awesome dreams though. I sleep fine without it.

I have the opposite problem where all I wanna do is sleep all day every day.

I was told by my Dr not to take it more than 4 nights a week. I tried it and it didn't work for me at all. It actually made me sleep worse than my normal terrible sleep.

I've just started Quvivic. The 4th-6th sleep med I've tried over the past couple years. Been on it a week now and I think it's working ok. I still wake up but seem to fall back to sleep easier. Going to give it another week and see how it's going. I'm on lowest dose so may need to increase it if my sleep doesn't get much better.

This is likely a contributing factor but avoidance doesn't help me

My best friend takes Amb*** every night and Lexapro every day and she says it has zero side effects.

Sounds awful to me but it works for her.
