Made it to one year *sober….now what? Anyone go back to drinking after sobriety?

The asterisk is because I've been Cali sober. For the first few months I smoked quite a bit but as of recently I typically smoke 2 or 3 times a week after work or in the evenings.

As far as alcohol and other drugs I made some pretty drastic changes and am better for it. Cut off anyone I knew who drank even if they had their life together, girls too. Got back in shape and I've made $28k in the past 90 days. Broke by misc standards of course but last year I was grossing $3k-$5k/mo so just glad to be back on track making money like I was before I got into drinking heavily. I mainly drank as a partyer, it was only towards the end of it that I needed to drink to ease the problems that were caused by drinking in the first place.

Thing is, I never really planned on being sober for the rest of my life. I have too much fun drinking out at bars pulling girls 10 years younger than me. Figured I'd stay sober for a year, then slowly get back into it for special occasions like going out to NFL games, or work events. Anyone ever go back to drinking after an extended period of sobriety? I don't think I'm a full on alcoholcel but that could be cope.

why not set rules for yourself and enjoy once a month?

Couple beers on a Saturday night.

9 weeks beerless for me . Although I don’t drink often , I do drink heavy when I do. Keep waking up the next day with this bad pain on the right hand side of my chest.
Finally put 2 and 2 together and realized it’s my liver that’s in pain. Never a good sign I suspect , so I’m going to take some time off .
Can’t see me quitting, but definitely gotta keep it down to a few beers at a time , not 10 to 45.
I’ve still got pain in my liver when I bend over , so it’s going to be a while till I touch it yet .
Was sure tempting yesterday

Yeah that's what I plan to do. Maybe save it for Fight Nights or good football/basketball games on the weekend.

I also was a heavy drinker, not an often drinker. I knew several people who had issues cause of it but still kept drinking lol but yeah best to stick to beer or something. I'm having more urges than ever now as well but I find that you can ignore it after 8-12 weeks off the sauce.
