My grandmother is 85, my father is 72, I am 36
My grandmother was born in 1939 and gave birth at 13
All my other grandparents are dead
My other grandmother was born in 1920
My grandfather 1919
My fathers, father was 21 when he was born
I feel like my grandmother and father are basically the same age at this point.
With our age difference we will never be that close in relative age.
The older you get the closer in percent of age you get to your parent.
I have a sibling that is 22
When my father is 85 I will be 49
When my father is 85 my youngest sibling will be 35
generationally we will never be the same
Do parents/children from the same generation have better relationships ?

Your goal as a parent is to raise good humans, not be their friend. You shouldn’t want to be a part of the same generation as them, so if anything, the bigger the age gap the better (up to a certain point).
Also, it is weird as hell when retired adults (65-70 years old) are taking care of their parents (90 years old)
