If someone wants to K-I-DOUBLR HOCKEY STICKS himself, how is he not excited for life?
Like…I don't want to end it all. I want to fulfill my role and be a good person to my friends family and society. Sure there are adventures I would like to go on but I can't due to my obligations.
Conversely, if someone is ready to end it all and say goodbye to their standing, disappear from the eyes of their loved ones, how are they not, like….get a nerf gun, point it at head pull trigger. Ok done. Now everyone around you no longer has access to yiu. No more job, no more obligations. Don't do anything..no taxes. Nothing. Walk the earth. Go no contact on life. Walk to Argentina. Nothing can hurt you. No danger can do worse to you than what you're willing to have happen to you. Just leave your house, no cell phone. Nothing. You fake KYS. You're done. Go to a Tibet monastery. Find peace without seeking it.

I actually have done this before. And once you get about 10 days in and your head clears from the fog, it feels pretty damn good.
You honestly don't even need to go out into the wilderness, that's a horribble idea for someone who needs to quiet the demons in their head. They need to go some place so chaotic that they have to think about navigating their immediate situation and can't think of all the bad things back home.

I would say that most people that want to rope are not in a good mental space so it is probably really hard for others to understand what they are going through.
I do know that a lot (not sure if it is most) feel like they are a burden on to others they care about so it isn't so much about things being too much for them to handle

Life is fun
I would only consider ending it if I was deteriorating to a point that I could no longer enjoy it

Having worked with a lot of teens and young adults who claimed they wanted to kill themselves, I can tell you that 95% of the time it's a cry for help and their way of looking for attention. Or they are really mentally ill, confused, and are saying it in order to get people to give them what they think they need.
Real people who kill themselves typically don't tell anyone. They just do it and you can usually see clear signs beforehand and it's usually planned out very well. Only if you're observant would you have a chance to intervene.
