That's fine, that's a perfectly good way to think about movies and how you rate them. That isn't really relevant to any of the points I made though.

Critics aka pretentious fuks rate certains movies highly >>> general public / hive mind rate it highly as well reasoning with critics >>> imdb top 250
Irregularity within top 250 occur because of popularity of said movie and exposure to media
Also, every belief/"rule" will have exceptions

Regardless, this is just my opinion and i'm just some random fuk in bumfuk canada so it doesn't really matter what i say, i just believe that people rate movies highly of which they aren't entertained by solely because they feel like they should and i don't understand how someone could still like movies like godfather when they're struggling to keep their eyes open

Anyway, i always enjoy a good debate, cheers.

Of course Ledger's Joker crushed Leto's. I liked Ledger as the Joker, he did a great job and totally made the character his own. I could've done without all the ham fisted Nolan dialogue where every single character (including the Joker) has to go into lengthy monologues explaining the reasoning behind their actions. It's like every point the movie is trying to make is spoon fed to the viewers through melodramatic rants. But I liked his Joker, a nice psychotic version of the character. Felt more like a villain from an episode of CSI than the Joker, but an interesting take on the character.

So while I did like his performance, I still won't regard it as much other than the only good part of an otherwise horribly bland and forgettable movie. All the action scenes were shot incompetently (Now zoom in! Shake the camera a bunch! We don't want anyone to actually see what's happening!) The editing was atrocious. Who cut the movie? It feels like it's a day long, it just drags on forever (much like me rambling about the movie.)

The Revenant. It looked pretty but that was about it. They did nothing to establish Leo's character so it was hard to get invested in anything. It was just two hours of bad **** happening to him.

Watch this scene (and the two I posted before) and say the dialogue and acting aren't fantastic.
