yes western civilizations, tho other religion views are questionable, christianity is best even as a mindset without beliving in god, humanity was at its peak when most of the world were devoted christians

How in the fuk did he expect anything but them killing him to happen? He cant even say "dont shoot me" to them. Nobody else on the planet knows their language.

Lets say they didnt kill him. How would he even be able to preach the bible to them...... Is he going to single handedly become the world expert on the assumed Sentinelese language in a weeks time? He was an EMT with no background in languages. wasnt very well thought out... to say the least.

This is pretty cool and explains a lot. They are on a little ass red island next to another longer island. There were native tribes on the longer island, most of them extinct/wiped out now. But you can imagine that them and the neighboring long island tribes had beef for thousands of years so they just shot up anyone who tried to come on their chit by boat and its worked well for thousands of years.

That would be cool. Could go wrong though. inb4 someone sneezed on the drone, they shoot it down with arrows, transfer of a common cold virus wipes out entire island.

It says people have been sending them gifts and chit, back in the 90s, the indian government did and then stopped after some people were killed. But rarely they did have peaceful encounters.

I wonder how many people working in the spy satellite programs offices keep zooming in on them watching the tribe when they are supposed to be looking for terrorists.

Its possible the Sentinelese learned to not fuk with outsiders because of the extinction of the Jangils
The Jangil (also Rutland Jarawa) were one of the Andamanese indigenous peoples of the Andaman Islands, located in the Bay of Bengal. They were distributed through the interior of Rutland Island, and were given the name Rutland Jarawa because it was supposed that they were related to the neighboring Jarawa peoples. Since they were first encountered and documented in the mid-19th century, direct contacts with them remained scarce and they generally sought to avoid such encounters. There are only a few reported instances where outsiders (the British colonizers and Indian settlers) encountered individuals from the group, the last such case being in 1907.Expeditions sent to the interior of the island in the 1920s failed to find any signs of current habitation; their disappearance and extinction most likely the result of introduced diseases to which they had no natural immunity.[1]

Their language is reported to have been unintelligible but to have had noticeable connections with Jarawa.

But when he reacted with hostility, he threw the gifts in their direction and fled.

He narrowly avoided death that day when some of the tribe shot at him with their arrows - and one 'little kid', almost unbelievably, hit the Bible he was holding at his chest.

'Well, I've been shot by the Sentinelese… By a kid probably about 10 or so years old, maybe a teenager, short compared to those who looked like adults,' he wrote.

'The little kid shot me with an arrow - directly into my Bible which I was holding at my chest,' he added.

Recalling his near-death experience in his journal that evening, he wrote: 'Father, forgive him and any of the people on this island who try to kill me... and especially forgive me if they succeed.'
'I grabbed the arrow shaft as it broke in my Bible... and felt the arrow head. It was metal, thin and very sharp.'

He later recalls giving the arrow head back to the tribe.

'Now that I remember it, after I got shot by that arrow and it was in my Bible, I gave it BACK! Man, I should have snapped it,' he wrote.

He also wrote about shouting at the kid who shot him and his desperate journey back to the boat.

'I stumbled back and I recall yelling at the kid for shooting me - now as I look back at it, my Bible cover looks like bark - like tree bark, so maybe he was just curious but yikes, it sure gave me a fright,' he wrote.

He added: 'They chased me. I had to swim almost a mile back to the boat.'
