I couldnt agree more. This corona**** got my fist in a ball these day. Most of my $$ is going towards food and cleaning/sanitizing supplies at this point.

Yeah I think I’m better of selling it. I’m probably going to sell it to purchase Aventus cologne. Have you tried that one? And damn brah that sounds like a good combo lol. What ratio did you use for Aventus/Elysium?

found an old bottle of it laying around in my room at my parents lol, kinda started liking the smell of it again

can't wait to go to the bar wearing it with a spray or two too many after this quarantine is over hehe

also found a really old batch of pure havane, like early 2010, are those worth anything or is it one of those colognes that has stayed the same throughout?

and a bunch of decants with mostly bond no. 9 and tom ford scents so gonna give all those a try again too, atleast the ones that haven't dried out

Once i read...you?...someone...say bitter almond i immediately smelled it when i sprayed and it was amaze balls.

I've noticed boozy frags, like CH Men Prive, PdM Layton, etc. have a strong...pencil lead...smell to me. It's hard to describe. But all the "boozy" frags have that. Wonder if its my nose.

I had on two sprays of ELysium from the morning and around dn 2pm, i put one sprays of aventus on. Aventus dominated and i could still smell remnants of my undershirt this morning before i showered. If i were to wear them together, it would probably a 2 or 3 to 1 in favor of Elysium as i prefer that one over Aventus.

Ive tried Aventus Cologne, its a fresher take on aventus and very citrusy dominant with some spice on the top. Its pretty decent, but I barely wear Aventus as is, so i never got a full bottle. I dont think its redundant to own both.

Yes. It's a different enough to look into imo.

Don't think it was me with the bitter almond but I get the sort of woody vibe you're describing in boozy scents. I think a typical thing in creating these scents is to balance them out with strong woody profiles at the base. Kilian amped that woody base up with Apple Brandy and made it smell like legit brandy that's stored in oak barrels for example.

It certainly can be depending on the rest of your collection. If you have Prada L'Homme, MFK Gentle Fluidity Silver, Chanel Allure Homme Blanche or anything really simple smelling i'd say pass it up.

I feel like big fans of Aventus won't like it though. It's very fresh and clean (fresh shower) smelling but it's really simple. I feel like most aventus fans bust their nut on the strong pineapple opening too much to entertain a frag like AC.

Did some digging around in the AF page and I saw two reviews on the new vintage la nuit clone.

First guy said its fire and said it was comparable to his modern la nuit batch. So that's a good sign.

Second guy said it lasts only about 6 to 7 hours on skin and he stopped smelling it at the 2 hour mark unless he put his nose to his skin.

It seems they haven't really differentiated it from the current batches of la nuit. If it's not beastly I don't think it's worth buying over the OG.

MAN. The past 3 wearings I did Interplay Extrait (clone of my holy grail - BR540 extrait).


Tonight after workout and shower my sample of 540extrait was staring me in the face so I took a spray and HNNNNNNNNNNNNNG'd so hard I nearly threw up. It's amazing how close the clone comes but it just has this slight sharp petroleum/poopish offputting note that removes the magic. The clone is great and for the price I recommend it...but I have to spend $300 more for just that 10% of divinity and it feelsbadman

Very polarizing scent, I wouldn't recommend blind buying it (although that's exactly what I did). OTOH, it's inexpensive enough that you won't be out much if it doesnt work for you.

It's a very aggressive and macho scent. Smells like leather, rum/whisky, and wood. And maybe a touch of diesel fuel. The bottle is heavy and looks great with the chrome accents.

I would recommend Bentley For Men Absolute over the Intense. It's slightly smoother, and more powdery with the sandalwood note. I own both, and don't regret it. It's just that the Intense can be a bit overpowering for some people.

Interdasting. I can actually get a sample of the Absolute here without paying stupid money, and it's marginally cheaper to buy a bottle. Will def check out, guess my no buy is about to end prematurely lmao.
