At the least, that's a negligent homicide charge - once the dude went completely limp, continuing to keep a knee on his neck and not checking for vitals or attempting CPR leaves you criminally culpable in any reasonable justice system.
The autopsy report states clearly the death was in part caused by the LEO restraint - whether it was initially justified or not, it ceased to be once the dude was lifeless and unresponsive.
It's a difficult one for the casual racists on the misc to grasp, for whom "black guy does drugs means he must deserve to die" is an age old philosophy. But Chauvin should see time.

The case should be studied, and maybe department policy should be rewritten to avoid in-custody deaths in the future-- I don't really think so TBH (check out the albeit crassly named George Floyd challenge, where people kneel on each other's neck for 10+ minutes with no loss of consciousness or life), but no one should go to jail over it.
I'm not saying what I think should happen in that post, I'm saying what I thinkwillhappen.
The case is too political for them to let him walk, that's why they won't let him plea down to Manslaughter III (which he tried to do), because they know they'll make Man II stick.

I said months ago it will likely end up being manslaughter. After watching the video again I don't think he should get that as there wasn't negligence involved and the officers handled the situation appropriately based off how Floyd was acting.
The neck thing shouldn't stick since it is very obvious now it was a drug overdose. The officers clearly could tell he was on drugs which is why an ambulance was called and without knowing what types of drugs he had taken, or that he taken a lethal amount, there wasn't much they could do other than wait for the ambulance.
That being said, this country's legal system is basically dead at this point so he will probably get the chair.
